SEA CLOUDII
LLove at first sight.
Salty sea air, carried on the evening breeze, drifts up into the hills above the harbor. Between houses along the alleyway, you can catch glimpses of the harbor. There, three tall masts tower high above the other ships. With her 174-foot main mast, the S EA CLOUDII makes her first incredible impression. Meet the world’s largest three-masted barque, the first newly constructed square rigger in decades. Since her launch in 2001, she has shared with her sister ship, the legendary SEA CLOUD, the
honor of being the world’s only cruise ships sailed “by hands.” Her elegant length, 384 feet from bow to stern, is crowned with 24 white cloth sails. In a word, her charm is irresistible, captivating guests from the moment they board. Her design and details speak volumes about the Golden Age of travel. The SEA CLOUDII promises a relaxed, private atmosphere with cosmopolitan flair to spare. An ocean voyage for true connoisseurs begins.
The voice of the captain echoes in the quiet of the early morning. The SEA CLOUDII crew whirls into action. High above the teak deck, sailors balance on the rigging, steady and surefooted as they release sail after sail. A quick flap and crackle of the heavy sailcloth tells us the sails have caught the wind. As they billow, witness the absolute grandeur of the SEA CLOUDII. It is a
magical moment, one that will stay with us long after our journey is finished. Soon, the hustle and bustle on deck
gives way to the quiet of the ocean. All our senses are alive. The steady head wind, the rush of the ocean, the expanse of the horizon, the creaking as the rigging responds to the ocean’s motion. The poet J. Ringelnatz perhaps said it best: "It roars like freedom...".
A“All clear to set sail. All men to the shrouds!”
Relax, daydream, sunbathe, get lost in a book. Unwind. Immerse yourself in conversation or enjoy your own thoughts. On the Lido Deck of the SEA CLOUDII, nestled in a comfortable deck chair, you’ve found just the right spot. This is no behemoth, this sleek sailing yacht; there are no crowds competing for space and a bit of quiet. Look around you – and notice the absence of throngs of fellow passengers. The SEA CLOUDII carries a
maximum of 94 passengers. Enjoy the privilege of being one of the few, rather than one of many. Indulge in the personalized, exemplary care lavished by 60 crew members. The day on deck ends with the blue hour as the sun reaches the horizon and slowly melts into the sea. Come gather with your fellow guests astern in the Lido Bar for a sundowner. Toast the breathtaking beauty of nature’s display.
AAncient seafarers told how the ocean soothes the soul.
AA luxury hotel on the high seas.
As you enter your private cabin on board the SEA CLOUDII, you might forget you are on a sailing ship. The roominess and brightness are surprising. And the appointments are evidence that both planners and designers intended stylish opulence. Down to the
smallest detail, your cabin radiates style and comfort. The colors, forms, materials, and decor work in harmony, and the exquisite workmanship speaks volumes. The SEA CLOUDII was created by perfectionists for perfectionists.
The SEA CLOUDII has a total of 47 cabins on her three decks, all with marble bathrooms, every one certain to exceed the expectations of even the most demanding
ocean traveler. Deluxe outside cabins and junior suites as well as the two grand owner’s cabins positively ooze style and elegance. Sweet dreams, indeed.
GGourmet dining room with unrivaled views.
The fragrance of fresh grilled lobster fills the air, wafting through the elegant dining room. The tables are dressed in white, the heavy silverware perfectly polished, the large windows framing gorgeous ocean views. The chef’s menu promises five fine courses, e.g., select cutsof beef, rosemary-peach sorbet, lobster with sugar snap peas. Again and again, the chef
de cuisine surprises us with market-fresh regional specialties paired with just the right vintages from the on-board cellar. Leave your tuxedo in the closet and your evening gown on its hanger. Festive dress is recommended only for the welcome and farewell dinners; otherwise, dinner dress is casual and the seating is open.
TThe rhythm of the night.
Time for the evening to wind down – or for the night’s merriment to begin. As you wish. For those of us gathered in the Lounge, at the Bar, or on comfortable deck chairs, it means sharing time with friends old and new. Con-
versations turn to the day’s impressions or to speculation of what wonders tomorrow may bring. Others of us retire to the quiet of the Library to read up on our next destination or send an email to loved ones at home.
RRediscover the world from beneath white sails.
The northern countries, Eu–rope’s Atlantic coast, the Adriatic Sea, the Aegean, and the Caribbean’s Lesser Antilles are among the world’s most beautiful mari-
time regions. And for passengers traveling there on the SEA CLOUDII, the experience is even more romantic, idyllic, and breathtaking.
With selected themed travel options, the SEA CLOUDII offers diverse itineraries, each an opportunity to rediscover the world. The ship is also an excellent choice for those planning a private charter or incentivetravel. As Goethe once said, “The best education for a clever man is found in travel.” And
for the classic elegance and discreet charm of the SEA CLOUDII, remember that she is a thoroughly modern, 21st-century ship. This is true for her technical equipment as well as her amenities (down to the wellness center equipped with a sauna and fitness room).
