Banking on a Greener Future

It’s very timely, after the COP26 conference, that 4 Clinton Place, once home to Seaford’s Nat West Bank, has been repurposed as SEA Climate Hub, a welcoming centre championing environmental issues and promoting local green initiatives. It’s a practical, useful and relevant place for everyone in the town to visit and find out how they can make a difference. It’s open to all and you can come along to repair, fix, swap, borrow and learn, as well as to offer your own ideas, knowledge and skills about a greener future. You can enjoy inspiring talks and exhibitions, take part in workshops and get stuck into local projects, from repairing to re-wilding.

In the first week of December, drop in to Treasure from Trash, a family friendly pop-up selling exhibition of surprising, creative upcycling from around the globe. As well as enjoying the engaging displays, you can take this one-off opportunity to buy greener Christmas gifts, choosing from hundreds of inventive, unexpected, and often stylish, treasures for unique presents. Every handmade object on show was once something else, ranging from rolled paper and bottle top jewellery to licence plate handbags, tin-can collectibles, papier-mêche masks, misprinted metal boxes and briefcases, and sturdy metal tools, braziers and utensils.

Treasure from Trash is at SEA Climate Hub, 4 Clinton Place, Seaford BN25 1NN. Daily from Friday, December 3rd to Saturday 11th December (excluding Sunday 5th December), 10.30am to 4pm. Entry free.
