Writing this piece at the end of November, quite how we will be celebrating this year seems a little uncertain. And looking forward into the year ahead things may be even more uncertain, but we have decided to forge ahead with our programme of events, and if it becomes necessary to modify, postpone or cancel some events, we are sure you will understand.
And so on Friday 14th January at 7.30pm, we are hosting a talk at the Little Theatre entitled ‘The Crown Jewels’ given by Pat Kingshott. For many years, Pat and her husband Alan lived at the Tower of London where Alan rose to become the Head Warden and Pat was the Keeper of the Crown Jewels. Pat will have fascinating insights into the collection in the Jewel Tower of London which has been housed there since 1661.
Next year, all our talks will be held at the Little Theatre in Steyne Road. Entrance will be on a first-come-firstserved basis. Entrance for the January talk will cost £5 for the public and £2 for Museum Members – another good reason to become a Museum Member!
Our programme of talks for 2022 ranges far and wide with the February talk (on the 11th) being entitled ‘Lionel the Little Known Warrior – The Red Baron’s first Englishman’ given by Jill Bush. This talk will tell the story of Lt Lionel Morris, Baron Von Richtofen’s first combat victim in September 1916.
Join us for many enjoyable and informative talks in 2022, all on Friday afternoons, in the Little Theatre in Steyne Road.
