A big thank you to those who visited Sussex Arts Collective’s ARTWAVE 2020 Exhibition COLLECTIVISTS!
ARTWAVE 2020 COLLECTIVISTS!
The CUCKMERE & FLINT Rooms, Crypt Gallery, Church Street, Seaford.
The Sussex Arts Collective exhibitors and organisers of their ARTWAVE 2020 exhibition ‘COLLECTIVISTS!’ would like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to all our visitors during the show. Under not ideal circumstances your patience and adherence to COVID restrictions helped to make the whole affair run smoothly and be a huge success. We can’t express how much we are indebted to you for your enthusiasm and support. Many of our members have had very little or no opportunity to present their work to the public since March, as one event after another were steadily cancelled through the spring and into the summer. With the prospect of the situation not improving in the near future, the exhibitors were, not say the least, very enthusiastic and excited to once more air their work to such an appreciative audience.
Likewise amongst our visitors there were many who had themselves not had the occasion to leave their homes for anything else but to exercise or shop for groceries. On many occasions they spoke of their gratitude for having somewhere to go where they could feel safe, welcome and hugely inspired.
As with all our Artwave exhibitions, ever since our first in 2005, in COLLECTIVISTS! we presented a broad and diverse display of fine art and craft work from members new and those who are very familiar to our regular attendees. But without fail all our exhibitors had used their time during Lockdown to develop and reinvigorate their portfolios. Consequently, it was a show that was not only instantly recognizable as a Sussex Arts Collective exhibition but was also fresh, lively and dynamic, guaranteeing that there was always something to see anew. Unfortunately our two remaining COLLECTIONS 2020 small-scale exhibitions in the Cuckmere Room Crypt Gallery have had to be cut from the Sussex Arts Collective’s programme this year. However, we will be back at the end of November and through out December until Christmas to exhibit our festival selection of work in a show entitled ‘A FESTIVE HULLABALOO!’ So keep your eye on subsequent editions of Seaford Scene, our website www.sussexartscollective.com, our Facebook (@ sussexartscollective) and Instagram (sussex.arts. collective) pages, as well as www.thecryptgallery.co.uk. In the meantime you can relive our fantastic COLLECTIVISTS! exhibition by visiting our Instagram page to watch the videos we have wwuploaded. Keep safe.
