What do you like best about Seaford? Seaford Seafront – I love walking along the Promenade in all weathers. What is your favourite piece of music? I love ABBA so it would have to be ‘Waterloo’ – but I also love Classics so I would choose Nimrod by Elgar. What is your favourite film? I have two – The Notebook and Galaxy Quest. What book are you reading at the moment? Anything by Debbie Macomber or Erica James. What is your idea of perfect happiness? Sitting in my garden with friends, sipping tea. Where is your favourite place to go in and around Seaford and why? Sitting on the seafront either at the Sailing Club or at Martello kiosk just watching the sea. Which living person do you most admire? The Duchess of Cornwall. I like the way she deals with life and she is the perfect foil for Prince Charles. What makes you sad? Cruelty to animals or children. What words or phrases do you most overuse? ‘It’ll all come out in the wash’ or ‘In it to win it’. How do you relax? Gardening – I love my garden. What is the most important lesson life has taught you? You only live once – life is not a rehearsal. What is the first line of your favourite poem? Slowly Silently now the moon walks the night in her silver shoon by Walter de la Mare. What is your favourite journey? The top deck on the bus from Seaford to Eastbourne. How would you spend a million pounds? I’d share it with my family. What is your most memorable learning experience? Going to Brighton Art College to do my Art Foundation Course. What is your greatest extravagance? Collecting Christmas Ornaments. What is your greatest fear? Driving on any motorway. What is your favourite smell? Phlox and Sweet Pea flowers – they remind me of my childhood holidays at my great-aunt’s house. What is the best advice you have ever been given? Just be yourself. What would your motto be? What will be, will be. Which person in history would you most like to meet? Queen Victoria – so many inventions happened in her reign, both social and industrial. What or who is the greatest love in your life? My family, especially my grandchildren Flynn and Amali. Anything else you may like to include ? Clive and I would like to take this opportunity to say goodbye to all our lovely friends in Seaford – we will miss you!
