HelloWorld_001.exe-----Log_Entry01.Date-3/2/2700 683 Years have passed since technology dominated out world. It started in small increments. From the creation of the TV, computers, internet, and smart technologies. Gradually technology was amplified faster and faster, breaking boundaries and limits. Transcending human capabilities. Alternate reality, augmented reality, cyborgs, AI, and Androids began appearing in modern society. Soon after, humans began transcending into technology uploading memories and consciousness into computers to live forever. Some individuals were cautious and untrusting of this technology because they felt an uneasy felling from the new transhumans technology. They began distancing themselves and fighting against the use of such technologies.
Until one day, a widespread virus hacked and attached itself to all the worlds technologies. The virus frantically and efficiently began to eradicate the inadequate lifeforms on Earth. Including the humans. Technology began to overrun human cities; enslaving and assimilating mankind. Those that survived the initial attacks fled the cities, creating outposts and smaller caravans constantly fighting the machines. Humans left inside the cities were enslaved to build more machines and maintain their energy source. Some humans in the cities remain free, scavenging for shelter and food but are in constant hiding and fear of the machines.

StartUp_002.exe--------Log_Entry02.Date-3/2/2700 In the machines city, a man moves silently through back allyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s shadows. He clenches onto a small flash drive; on it is a program that will save him and his daughter. The man will do anything to protect his daughter and shield her from this horrific dystopia. She is much too pure and innocent for this harsh reality. He named her Aryanna, which means the one who is most pure. They need to escape the machines. Fewer and fewer supplies are obtainable within the city, and people are rounded up faster by the machines. The software on the drive was written by a local hacker that will help them escape. The man traded everything he had for the drive so it better be worth it. The man arrives at desolate subway entrance. The old abandoned subways are the only place safe from the machines. He heads into the dark tunnel passing cobwebs, trash, and piled up waste from over the years.
A dim light excretes from the darkness from a hidden door. The man opens the door and light pours into the room. A girl patiently waiting in a corner turns to the man and says, “Welcome back fathe-” “Shh, Aryanna keep your voice down, you know they implanted audio sensors down here” replies the man. “Sorry…did you get it? Are we finally leaving?” questioned Aryanna. “Yes, we’re leaving now, grab your things” Aryanna swiftly grabbed what remained of her possessions, and her father wrapped a cloak around her as they walked out the door.

Eject_003.exe---------- 12 Log_Entry03.Date-3/2/2700 Under the cover of night, Aryanna and her father pass through corridors in the city making their way to the Split. When the city fell to machines, a wall of energy was erected to prevent the humans escape. Anything that passes through it is instantly disintegrated. This wall was later named the Split. No one has been able to pass through the barrier, until now. The flash drive the man acquired was programed to disable the barrier without notifying the machines lifeforms long enough for them to slip past. They reach the barrier. It’s 15ft tall and shimmers in a bright orange light, radiating powerful energy in a soft hum. Aryanna’s father opens the side panel on the control pad and finds the outlet for the drive. “Alright, this better work…” he prayed as he plugged the device into the input. Silently the barrier shuts off, and the outside world is revealed to them. They walk up eagerly to the gate
and begin to cross the barrier. Suddenly, the laser barrier begins to power back up as alarms ring out across the night. Aryanna is unexpectedly shoved from behind and falls to the ground outside the gate. As she was pushed through, the wall reactivated and sliced her arms off with ease. She turns around to see her father stuck on the other side of the Split. “SHIT! That hacker must have sold me out. DAMN I’M SUCH A FOOL!” Screamed the man. “Father, what do we do? I can’t leave you in there!” Aryanna cried out. The man stood there processing the situation as sirens blare all around them. “I will draw the machines attention as you run away from here. NOW GO!” he shouted as he ran from the gate. “WAIT!” cried Aryanna, but her father had already run out of sight and out of earshot.
Aryanna attempted to crawl away from the gate but she began to pass out from the pain. Luckily the energy barrier cauterized her arms as they were cut off or she would surly die from blood loss. However, the pain is still unbearable, causing her vision to get hazy and spotted. As she passes out, Aryanna notices a shadowy figure standing above her.

Reboot_004.exe--------- 16 Log_Entry04.Date-3/12/2700 Aryanna awakes in a panic quickly accessing the room around her. The room is larger than any room she’s seen in her life, but it’s still dirty and filled with rubbish like her room back in the subway. A sharp stinking pain comes from her arms. She looks down to see bandages and wrappings around the stubs that used to be her arms. Aryanna sits quietly contemplating how she even got here. Two small knocks come from the door. As Aryanna looks up, a young man stands in the door in some type of uniform. “Good, your finally awake. Some woman three days ago dropped you off at our front door. You were injured and unconscious so we took you in” stated the man. “Thank you…but just who are you? Where am I?” asked Aryanna.
“My name is Balveer, and I’m the leader of the resistance” he stated. “The Resistance?” she asked. “We’ve been fighting the machines for hundreds of years ever since they overthrew humanity. This is our headquarters” said Balveer. Aryanna had many questions for Balveer about the resistance, and the world outside the city. She was glad to learn there was far less machines outside the city. However, they still attack every so often in pursuit of wiping out humanity, but at least out here humans have a chance.

Upgrade_005.exe-------- 20 Log_Entry05.Date-6/26/2703 Three years later Aryanna has joined the resistance against the machines and the virus. To fight better, Balveer helped equip Aryanna with advance prosthetic arms. They weren’t perfect but they at least allowed her to gain some of her mobility back. Many of the other soldiers had mixed feelings about using such machine-like technology. Fearing it may cause trouble foe them. Balveer disputed their concerns told Aryanna to ignore their criticism. Aryanna’s and Balveer’s relationship grew stronger and closer. Balveer fell for Aryanna’s beauty and pure spirit, and she grew fond of Balveer’s protection, bravery, and kindness. Eventually they decided to marry one another and lead the resistance together.
Soon after, Aryanna became pregnant with Balveerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s child. However, he could not stay for the birth of his child. An all-out assault against the machines was underway, and Balveer is headed to the frontlines. As leader of the resistance he needs to lead the advance and support his troops. Balveer left his second in command to protect Aryanna and watch over the headquarters.

Virus_006.exe---------- 24 Log_Entry06.Date-3/06/2704 Nine months later, Aryanna gave birth to a beautiful baby. Balveer’s second in command, Aegis, sends an encrypted transmission to Balveer saying, “General Balveer, your wife has given birth to a beautiful boy. She eagerly awaits your return”. Balveer receives the transmission and is overjoyed with the news. He Send back another encrypted message saying, “I am so happy to hear this great news, I will fight hard and return to my wife and child soon”. However, this transmission is intercepted and hacked by the virus controlling the machines. The virus plots a sinister strategy to destroy the resistance from the inside. The virus rewrites Balveer’s message to say, “Aegis, I want you to upload this virus into Aryanna’s arms. It will cause her to lose control of the robotic limbs; Killing her child and then herself. I want her arms dismembered and displayed over
their graves for everyone to witness the atrocities of the machines. This will inspire my troops to fight harder against the machines so we can end this war once and for all. I am willing to make this sacrifice for the cause.” When Aegis receives this transmission, he is appalled and horrified of Balveer’s response. He knew Balveer was dedicated to wiping out the machines, but this is madness. There was no way Aegis was willing to go through with Balveer’s plan. He rushed to Aryanna’s room and confessed, “Aryanna, I’m truly sorry but we need to get you and your child out of here. Balveer has succumbed to madness and has betrayed you.” “What do you mean he betrayed me Aegis?” Asked Aryanna. “Balveer asked me to upload a virus in your arms that will cause you to murder your child and yourself. He wanted to demonstrate the machines evil to his troops to inspire their efforts” Said Aegis.
Hearing these words the girl broke down in tears, panicking at the thought of her lover betraying her. Aegis quickly comforted her saying, “Don’t worry, I have a plan to save you and trick that bastard”.

Refresh_007.exe-------- 28 Log_Entry07.Date-3/07/2704 The next day Aegis dug two graves for Aryanna and her child. He went and found the carcasses of a deer and a rabbit and threw them into the freshly dug graves. Next Aegis helped Aryanna remove her robotic limbs from her body. They placed each one over the headstones on the graves. “There, now it will seem like I did what Balveer asked of me” stated Aegis. “Now all that is left is to get you and your child out of here”. Aryanna had Aegis strap her child to her back so she can carry him. Getting around deprived of her arms is going to be challenging but she will make do. Aryanna thanked Aegis for everything he has done, and left into the open world. Aryanna drifted through the desolate ruins of the world for about a month. One day, she came across a deep dark stairway; It reminded her of their home
back in the city. She decides to follow it down into the darkness. As she fumbled her way through the tunnel, a light emitted a soft glow at the end of the tunnel. She heard chattering, and voices coming from the other side. When she emerged, she was stunned to find a town of people. Small unsteady buildings line the sides of the tunnel. People gather and converse at small stands and shops. A woman notices her enter from the tunnel and approaches Aryanna. “I never thought I would see you here” said the woman. “I’m sorry, do I know you?” asked Aryanna. “I was the one who found you all those years ago at the Split. You were injured and passing out. I carried you away from there but my town was too far. I had to leave you at the resistance headquarters hoping they could help you. I did not stay because I do not trust any type of military force, whether that be machine or mankind. How is it you are here?” asked the woman.
“I’ve been traveling for a month running from the father of my child. He is the leader of the resistance but he went mad and wants us both dead” replied Aryanna. “I knew they were no good. I feel bad for leaving you in that place. Come, you can stay with me and live in our town” stated the woman.“But first let’s do something about those hands of yours” The woman brought Aryanna into her a house and took her into a dusty garage like area full of machine parts and tools. “I’m the town’s engineer, I keep the lights on and help make our lives a little bit easier any way I can” she said as she pulled parts from boxes and walls. “Now these might not be perfect, but they will get the job done”. The woman puts together new prosthetic arms for Aryanna. They are clunky, and made from random bits of scraps but they will have to do.

Return_008.exe--------- 32 Log_Entry07.Date-3/07/2704 Over a year has passed since Balveer left to go fight the machines. He could not wipe out all of them, but they gained more ground between them. Balveer headed home to finally see his wife and their child for the first time. As Balveer entered the courtyard of the headquarters, he could tell something horrible has happened. He sees the two graves, one small enough to be a child’s. His wife’s robotic arms are draped across the tops. Balveer calls for someone to explain what happened. Aegis appears, and angerly punches Balveer in the face. “I did what you asked you monster!” shouted Aegis In a slight daze Balveer askes, “and what was that?” “In your last transmission, you gave me a virus to input into Aryanna’s arms. She lost control of them as they smothered her child, and then took her
own life. I buried them here and placed her arms on the grave as you asked. Thinking that this will motivate your troops to fight the machines. All in the sake of cause, right? Your disgusting” stated Aegis. “WHAT!? I never sent that virus, or that transmission” Balveer hollered as tears began to burst from his eyes. Seeing this Aegis realized they have been tricked. “The machines must have hacked our transmission codes” stated Aegis. “But dont fear, your wife and child are still alive. I didn’t go through with the plan. We staged their deaths, but Aryanna left headquarters about four months ago”. Hearing these words, Balveer was filled with relief and determination to find his wife and child. He quickly gathered his supplies and left in pursuit of Aryanna.

End_009.exe------------ 36 Log_Entry09.Date-8/28/2705 Balveer wandered the remnants of the outside world for a year searching for Aryanna. Until one day, when he was seeking shelter from the rain he found a tunnel leading underground. He follows the dusty dark corridors further into the underground. Eventually he saw a warm light in the distance and hears crowds of people talking. He enters the light and finds himself in the middle of an underground town, rushing with energy. The man notices a beautiful girl gazing out a window of a nearby house. “could it be Aryanna?” he thinks to himself as he approaches the building. The woman protecting Aryanna notices the man, and recognizes him as the leader of the resistance. She quickly instructs Aryanna to stay upstairs and to not come down. Balveer comes up to the woman and asks, “Excuse me, would it be alright if a could rest a bit?”
The woman sharply replies “Fine, but only for a little bit, then you leave”. The man enters the decrepit wooden house. It’s very barren on the inside but has the necessities for living. “So why are you here” crudely asks the woman as Balveer goes to sit down. “I am in search of my wife, and child. I’ve been searching for over a year in this world for them” Balveer replied. Upstairs Aryanna listens to their conversation through the cracks of the floor boards. She can recognize the familiar voice. It’s Balveer. “Oh…did they do something wrong?” the woman asks keenly, trying to provoke the true nature of his motives.
â&#x20AC;&#x153;Oh no, I love them with all my heart. A machine hacked a transmission between us and now she thinks I wish her dead. Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve never wanted that, and I will search for them until the end of mankindâ&#x20AC;? said Balveer. Aryanna hears this and rushes down stairs. Their eyes meet and an overpowering sense of joy becomes them. They embrace each other tenderly, and Aryanna finally introduces Balveer to their child. Soon after once again back into their days
the machines were wiped out and humanity had control over the world. People moved cites, and Aryanna and Balveer lived happily.
