But behind all of that optimism there was still a slight concern if prices were actually sustainable throughout 2018. Many worried that the current prices were artificially supported by cuts in international production. Would producers continue to hold down spending as long as possible and use this uptick in prices to improve their profitability? Would near term CAPEX spending be diverted to land based operations/investments versus deepwater? All valid questions, but unfortunately none of us were absolutely sure on what to expect, especially with the choppy market we’d experienced over the previous years. Going into 2018 analysts’ predicted there would be a slight uptick in CAPEX and IMR/OPEX activities across most markets. As we enter Q3 I think that’s been the case in some markets, but clearly not in all. Even though prices have pierced $70/bbl we are once again facing the possibility of increased production across the world making it increasing more difficult to read the tea leaves. We thought this would be good opportunity to highlight our experience in building a variety of subsea panels. From Diver to ROV panels we’ve worked with many of the largest companies in the industry and our panels have been deployed in several markets around the world.

Our feature tool this issue is a Class V Torque Tool. Over the years Seanic has manufactured large quantities of Class V & VII Torque Adaptors for a growing number of customers. We recently delivered a large order of Class V Torque Tools and thought this would be a good time to share some pictures of our new design along with the technical specifications. Since our inception in 2007, our customers have entrusted us to store and maintain some of their most valuable subsea hardware and tools. As the quantities and complexity of those products grew, it became increasing more difficult to manage this effort using spreadsheets. In Q2, Seanic is rolling out an asset management portal that allows our customers access to all of their equipment, reserve assets for future campaigns/ activities and track the status of the tool at any time, from any place. It will also provide a variety of reports improving visibility on past or present maintenance and certifications. In 2016, Seanic opened a new facility in Katy Texas, a suburb of Houston. The 55,000 Sq. /Ft. building on 10+ acres included a 50’ x 50’ x 30’D in ground test tank. Our goal was to attract all aspects of in water testing, from gas tests to diving operations and of course SIT’s that involved ROV’s. Q1 brought several companies to our facility to use that tank for general testing and wet testing their ROV’s before heading into the field. ABERDEEN

SEANIC DEVELOPS A UNIQUELY ENGINEERED PACKAGE FOR A SUBSEA DECOM PROJECT With our expertise and proven track record, Seanic was called upon to deliver a unique package of equipment ahead of a decommissioning project in the North Sea. Our Aberdeen based engineers were tasked with creating a diver operated tooling package to condition the top of a spherical condeep storage cell on the Brent Delta platform prior to its decommissioning.

The end solution covered four main stages: • Locating, installing and levelling a central datum on the cells to allow all equipment to be installed on the interface plate and ensure concentricity of operations • Conditioning of the cell top with the orbital milling machine • Core drilling on a set PCD for installation of securing studs • Post tension testing of chemically retained securing studs Seanic performed all testing at our facility just outside of Aberdeen which included, diver training and full procedural demonstration to confirm operations and timings, post tensioning along with destruction testing on retaining studs. The spread of tools were dispatched in bespoke subsea baskets along with a dedicated workshop and parts

The project was the first of its kind and involved polishing the top of concrete storage cells to prepare the surface for installation of baseplates for cell sampling. The orbital milling tool and associated installation equipment was designed to be installed onto the storage cell and mill a circular area of 1.8m diameter to the level, smooth surface required by the customer. From concept to completion of the offshore work,

TEST POOL

POOL PARTY 2018! Increased oil prices have brought increased activity for our state-of-the-art 50 ft. square x 30 ft. deep in-ground test tank. So far this year three ROV operators have brought vehicles to our Katy facility to perform several days of rigorous inwater testing before placing them in service. Our test tank can be hired on a day rate basis for companies looking to test multiple underwater applications. From gas testing to diver SIT’s to heavy hardware, our 2000lbs sq./ft. pool bottom is capable of handling heavier equipment than any other test tank along the Gulf Coast. 17 H/D EXCLUDER HOT STABS AND RECEPTACLES The new bi directional flow excluder design keeps seawater out and hydraulic oil in. The purpose is to not contaminate the ROV hydraulic system with water and not have an environmental release of hydraulic oil into the ocean. PH PROBE Seanic Ocean Systems has designed a pH probe used to measure and monitor pH in the subsea environment, particularly useful in drilling operations and the prediction of cement returns. SUBSEA LOAD CELL The Seanic load cell is designed to provide accurate, reliable load readings for the lifting of subsea structures. This unit is a simple, rugged and reliable alternative to some of the other high tech options on the market. Calibration certifications are good for one year and can be quickly recertified annually. VORTEX DREDGE KIT The most powerful 4 inch ROV and diver dredge in the world is available for rent. The Vortex has a removal rate performance more commonly seen in the 6 inch dredges. DUAL FLUID HPU Seanic has designed and built a new Hydraulic Power Unit that is very unique. The use of a check ball pump and an electric motor was the difference between a standard oil HPU that can’t pump the water glycol and the air driven pumps usually used in this application.

30 INCH SAW This clamp design cuts through a single jumper and eliminates concerns of aligning multiple cuts. It’s retroactive, so all previously purchased 20 inch super grinders can be added to the clamp, and is easily removed for standalone applications. FLEX JOINT CLEANING TOOL ROV COMPATIBLE The flex joint cleaning tool was designed to clamp around steel catenary risers with pipeline diameters ranging from 6 to 24 inches. The tool is operated by a Seanic technician through the use of a joystick and tooling computer with GUI interface inside the ROV control van.

SEA CHEST COVERS MULTIPLE SIZES Seanic has designed and manufactured ROV-installable Sea Chest Covers in a variety of sizes, used for UWILD and for marine maintenance activities on subsea platforms. During a UWILD the external hull must be cleaned and inspected, in addition to the replacement and/or repair of internal systems inside the hull.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX -- OPERATING & MAINTENANCE MANUAL

Seanic’s Sea Chest Covers are used to plug the open flange during inspection and maintenance campaigns. The operation and functionality is imperative to the successful sealing of the internal hull while personnel and equipment are inside performing the inspection and maintenance. The differential pressure at the sea chest flange provides a sealing mechanism allowing for the seal face of the Sea Chest Cover to stay in place and prevent seawater from entering into the flange. Clamping mechanisms on the sea chest covers provide additional security for the connection and sealing force. An internal bladder on the sea chest is inflated using a seawater injection pump providing an internal sealing element as a secondary measure to prevent any additional seawater from entering the hull in the event of a slow failure of the primary face seal. The design is ROV friendly, and capable of being deployed and installed efficiently. Seanic’s API 17H FLOT and Class 1-4 torque tool is used to deploy and lock the Sea Chest Cover onto the sea chest flange.
