We hope that your summer has been filled with joy, fun, and lots of golf! Summer has brought a few changes to Sea Palms. Many of you attended the Future of Sea Palms, Going from Good to Great meeting last month. We are all very excited for what is in store. We are now fully in the transition to Raines as management of the resort and Club. They bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise that we can rely on for support and growth particularly on the combination of golf and resort from Waynesville Inn and Golf Club, their Tapestry by Hilton Lodge and Club. We are now under one management roof. As we complete the transition, a few titles have been adjusted but responsibilities in most areas continue as before. Daniel Hull is the General Manager of the resort, and I am the Director of Golf. All Club, Membership, and golf inquiries will continue to be addressed by myself and Cissy Thompson, Director of Membership. Daniel and I will continue to work closely together on all aspects of Sea Palms.
We want to dispel a few rumors that have circled around since last month’s meeting. Tennis and fitness at the Sea Palms West is not closed. We will continue to operate as usual with a few minor adjustments. The fitness center will no longer be attended. Resort and Club staff are scheduled daily to stock, clean, and address any issues that may arise. Fitness center hours are 5:00 am to 9:00 pm. There is no entry allowed after 9:00 pm. Security cameras have been installed to monitor use. Please remember to sign in on each visit. Sarah Barnett will continue as our Director of Tennis and will work closely with Club and maintenance staff to ensure the courts are at their best. New windscreens have been ordered and we anticipate putting in new lines in the fall. Please be mindful of your times and reservations on the sheets in the Fitness Center. Security cameras for the tennis courts will be up and running this week. Please also sign in your guests and adhere to the Club tennis guest policy.
The warm-up area at the range is back up and fully operational. This area is reserved for use for players on the day of play and instruction only. Hours are 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Please refrain from hitting balls down range as all nets have been removed. The Miracle is the best place to improve your game and get in a few full shots. Additionally, please do not use the golf course as the practice range. We often find large areas of divots where many shots have been hit particularly on holes 12, 13, and 14 late in the evenings. Golf privileges will be suspended for violators.
On a slightly sad note, two of our outstanding golf and membership team members are moving on to bigger and better opportunities. We will all miss Peyton Nobles and Dani Morton, but we wish them all the success in the world! One final note for today. Congratulate Jeff Zoul on his hole-in-one on #9, July 11.

Summer promises to be an exceptional time for golf, filled with events, opportunities for improvement, and, of course, plenty of time to enjoy our beautiful course. The greens will be healed up in no time from our summer maintenance.
Golf Clinics and Lessons
For those eager to improve their game, our instructional programs continue throughout the summer From clinics focusing on short-game precision to personalized lessons tailored to your specific needs, our team of professionals is here to help you reach your full potential on the course. Whether you're refining your swing or mastering your putting technique, our instructors are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals.
Course Conditions and Tips
Our course is in prime condition most of the year, thanks to our grounds crew's diligent efforts With lush fairways & meticulously groomed greens, every round promises to be a pleasure. With summer maintenance & aerification you cannot expect too much on the greens. Even though good scores can be shot, do not get frustrated if a putt bounces offline. It won’t be long before things will return to normal or even better. As you navigate the course, remember the summer heat—stay hydrated, use sun protection, & pay attention to your energy levels to ensure a comfortable & enjoyable golf experience. I recommend having a small snack every three holes or so to help keep your energy levels up!
Independence Day & Community
Beyond the normal golf, July is a time for us to come together as a community and be patriotic. The golf shop is stocked with Red, White, & Blue, so you can represent the land of the free. Whether you're playing a casual round with friends or participating in one of our organized events, Sea Palms is a place where friendsh the game thrives. Be sure to stop in & check out our selection-themed merchandise.

FROM THE DIRECTOR OF AGRONOMY
Greetings from The Club at Sea Palms!
The dog days of summer have arrived, and our dedicated maintenance team is working diligently to prepare for the heat and the upcoming busy fall season. Our primary focus remains on enhancing playability and the overall beauty of the course
As we continue to transition fully to bermudagrass from overseeded turf, our maintenance strategies are centered on fertilization and cultural practices to expedite recovery and elevate course quality. We're implementing verticutting alongside light, frequent topdressing to smooth out greens and minimize grain. While these procedures may cause temporary disruption, they are crucial for our ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance the course
Looking ahead to the fall and winter seasons, our primary objective is to increase turf density at every level. Once we achieve optimal density, our attention will shift towards optimizing green speeds for the upcoming season.
As always, we kindly ask for your assistance in preserving our course conditions by:
- Repairing ball marks promptly
- Filling divots with provided sand mixture
- Raking bunkers after use
- Spreading cart traffic to minimize wear
- Keeping carts on designated paths
- Adhering to daily cart traffic guide
Your cooperation is invaluable in m enjoyable experience for all golfers.
Thank you for your continued suppo We look forward to seeing you on th
