The 2024 Schedule of Events, LGA, & MGA schedules are included in this newsletter.
Celebrating the Champions of 2023: A Year of Triumphs Before we dive into the exciting prospects of 2024, let us take a moment to applaud the champions who showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout the past year. Our 2023 Club event champions have left an indelible mark on the course, setting the standard for excellence. Congratulations to each of you for your remarkable achievements! These champions embody the spirit of camaraderie and competition that makes our golfing community so special. Their dedication to the game serves as an inspiration for all of us, and we look forward to seeing how they continue to elevate their game in the coming year. On that note, we would like to bestow special recognition to Rusty Mosley, our 2023 Club Champion. Rusty took his club championship win to the next level by capturing the 2023 GSGA Tournament of Champions at Brunswick Country Club. Rusty defeated a statewide field of 2023 champions with rounds of 72-68.

GOLF From the Desk of the Head Golf Professional Happy New Year! As we embark on a new year filled with endless possibilities on the course, it's the perfect time to set our sights on improving and enhancing our golf game. In this edition, let's explore some key strategies and exciting opportunities to take your golf skills to new heights. 1. Embrace the Winter Advantage January brings a refreshing chill to the air, creating optimal conditions for a great round of golf. Cooler temperatures often mean firmer fairways and greens, providing an excellent opportunity to gain extra yardage off the tee and refine your approach shots. Seize the moment and embrace the advantages that the winter season brings to your game. Try to be positive about whatever playing conditions may arise. 2. Set Clear and Attainable Goals The start of the year is an ideal time to reflect on your golf journey and set clear, achievable goals for the months ahead. Whether you're aiming to lower your handicap, improve your consistency, or master a specific aspect of your game, having well-defined objectives will guide your practice sessions and keep you motivated throughout the year. 3. Take Advantage of Instructional Opportunities At The Club at Sea Palms, we understand the importance of continuous improvement. Our team of seasoned golf professionals is here to assist you in reaching your goals. Consider scheduling a lesson to receive personalized feedback on your swing, short game, or overall course management. Small adjustments can yield significant improvements, and our instructors are dedicated to helping you unlock your full potential. 4. Attend Specialized Clinics To kick off the year with a focus on improvement, join our specialized clinics designed to target specific aspects of your game. Whether you're looking to refine your putting, perfect your drive, or enhance your bunker play, these clinics provide an interactive and educational experience that will elevate your skills. Please reach out to Lead Assistant Jason Babb, PGA to inquire about his weekly clinics.
GOLF From the Desk of the Head Golf Professional 5. Invest Time in Short Game Practice The short game is often the differentiator between good and great golfers. Dedicate time to honing your skills around the greens – from chipping and pitching to putting. Our practice facilities are equipped with areas specifically designed for short-game improvement. We are very fortunate to have a world-class short-game facility like The Miracle. Consistent practice in these areas can lead to lower scores and increased confidence on the course. 6. Pro Tip of the Month: Focus on Fundamentals As you work towards improvement, never underestimate the power of solid fundamentals. Whether it's your grip, posture, or alignment, regularly revisiting and refining these basics can have a profound impact on your overall performance. Start the year by ensuring your fundamentals are in top-notch form. Here's to a year of growth, achievement, and unforgettable moments on the golf course. Let's make 2024 the year you elevate your game to new heights at The Club at Sea Palms.
Swing with confidence,

AGRONOMY As the winter months quickly set in, the Sea Palms agronomy team is focused on improving the playability of all overseeded and non-overseeded surfaces. As we did last year, the team decided to not overseed the greens, to better manage health and speeds throughout the winter and spring seasons. We will now have more available time to work on other improvement projects throughout the property. As the temperatures begin to decline and turf growth slows, we will begin to work on our winter projects. As members have probably noticed, work has already begun with the installation of new mulch around trees on the golf course. Other projects include select green side bunker rehabilitation, which will include removing old sand, cleaning drain lines, and installing new sand. The main priority for the maintenance team and The Club at Sea Palms members, heading into the winter season will be to maintain a healthy stand of grass despite the lack of optimal growing conditions. The implementation of geofencing with the new cart fleet will go a long way to help protect and reduce traffic on the turfgrass in sensitive areas. As always, help protect playing conditions by: Repairing ball marks Filling divots Raking bunkers Keeping carts on path at tees and greens Obeying daily cart traffic

SALES To the Club at Sea Palms Membership, We hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying yourself, as we conclude the holiday season and head into the new year! We are excited to bring you the latest update on the Sales Department at Sea Palms. Over the past year, the Sales team has been hard at work, connecting with prospective clients, and showcasing the exceptional experiences available on our property. We have had a very successful year with groups in-house, weddings, and banquet events. We are thrilled for the opportunities that 2024 will bring. The Sales Department is currently in the process of hiring a new position to our team – Conference Service Manager. This position works with Sales Team, alongside the Banquet team, to coordinate Sales and Membership events, and plays an overall vital role to the function and success of the resort. More information to come. We are extremely excited about our new event space, Square 67, and look forward to hosting many amazing events in the upcoming year(s). We also have added a new turf area, the Pool Yard, with exciting new changes in store for the space behind the cabanas. As we look forward to growing as a resort and club, we also look for new ways to bring in business. FOOD & BEVERAGE Greetings, my favorite family members, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is looking forward to a great new year. Chef Deke and I have been crafting the new menu, which will be out end of January. The new menu reflects many of your requests. It will include fresh salads with the ability to have it as an entree with added protein, freshly made soups, lunch and dinner specials, fresh seafood from local vendors, and great selections of sandwiches for lunch as well. We are also looking into themed nights. We just finished the Valentine's Day menu, which will be out with this newsletter. I am very excited about the new year and the prosperity that it will bring to Sago and Sea Palms. Happy New Year to all of you and yours.
