CONTESTANTS Alyssa King- is a Senior Double Majoring in L.E.P.P and Global studies with a Minor in Human Rights and hails from the Central District (CD) right here in Seattle, WA. Miss King aspires to evoke constant change that will empower youth of color to pursue their passions and purpose in life. Her hopes are to one day achieve this through a career in law or policy and developing two nonprofits in the CD centered around youth development and black economic growth in the PNW.

Benét Sparks-is a Sophomore Majoring in American Ethnic Studies with a Minor in Writing and hails from Seattle, WA. Miss Sparks aspires to get into her second major, Education, Communities, & Organizations so one day she may be a world traveler and teach English. Later returning to be a middle school or high school teacher in underprivileged communities.

Kiss’Shonna Curtis- is a third year Double Majoring in Psychology; Education, Communities, and Organizations (ECO) and hails from Spanaway, WA. Miss Curtis aspiration in life is to be involved in the transformation of America’s criminal justice system. She aspires to rehabilitate the minds of those that have been incarcerated while also advocating for substantial and sustainable change in our criminal “justice” system.


CONTESTANTS Praises Orji – is from Kent, Washington. a Freshmen at the University of Washington, Seattle that is studying in Informatics with a minor in Anthropology. As a community service leader I have helped host and create the Save Our Streets and Support Our Struggles March that was created to not only create awareness but also to provide aid and support for the struggles that are going on in community streets as well as recognizing individual struggles. Some of my achievements as a scholar is receiving the Washington State Opportunity scholarship, Delta Sigma Theta Tacoma Alumnae Chapter scholarship, University of Washington BAVA scholarship, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Delta Upsilon Omega Chapter scholarship and National Center for Women In Technology scholarship.

Misha Jace Robinson- is a Freshman Majoring in Visual Communication Design, Art Education and hails from Pink Hill, North Carolina. Miss Robinson passions in this world are art and music, as well as caring for and loving all people! Given her past experiences growing up, she wants to use her talents and opportunities to help kids who are in unhealthy and unstable family situations. Miss Robinson also wants to continue to use her experiences and knowledge to serve the people around her, whether that is public speaking or sharing her story. Lastly, her aspiration in life is to be a light in this world and dedicate herself to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ--because she believes that is the best gift you can give to someone!

Zeta Pi Lambda is excited to announce the return of our revamped Club ALPHA (Alpha Leadership for Honoring Achievement) Mentoring Program this September 2019 at Van Asselt Community Center! The Club ALPHA Mentoring Program targets male youth of color in middle to high school between the ages of 12 – 18 years of age in the Seattle Metropolitan Area. The primary goals are: 1. Provide positive African-American role models and re-define the student’s perception of the Black male image. 2. Build an environment that promotes socially positive behavior in the community. 3. Introduce a self-motivating and goal setting perspective to the students. 4. Develop an entertaining means to engage the students in brotherhood. The Club ALPHA mentoring workshops include voter education/engagement, sex education/roles of males in relationships, importance of completing secondary/collegiate education, police interactions/citizen rights, and financial literacy Club ALPHA workshops are scheduled every 2nd Saturday from September to April For questions or more information, please feel free email us at clubalpha06mentoring@gmail.com.
