As of 2011, we have one of the highest life-saving rates in the country — 96.5%. We save nearly 6,000 abandoned, stray, and surrendered pets every year. We have no time limits on our healthy and adoptable shelter guests — regardless of age, breed or beauty. Beyond adoptions, we offer veterinary services, a variety of classes and training, a pet food bank, and humane education for children of all ages. We are not connected to the city or county animal shelters or with any other humane society — local or national. We are an independent nonprofit organization. Your donation helps us save lives. Approximately 80 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to providing care for the animals. We received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest charity evaluator, four years in a row, placing us in the top six percent of all evaluated charities.
