When it comes to parting-off operations without lateral deflection of large diameters, the system 150.10 is the right choice. The reason is that the blades are made of strong High Speed Steel; the lateral forces are reduced to a minimum thanks to the patented Seco grooving insert. This means that straight surfaces are created and higher feed can be realized.

Higher process reliability and productivity JETSTREAM TOOLING® and JETSTREAM TOOLING® DUO Jetstream Tooling and Jetstream Tooling Duo are Seco’s patented directed high pressure coolant systems achieving reliable chip breaking and chip flow and at the same time considerably reducing abrasive and thermal wear. You can easily and significantly lower your production costs with higher cutting data and longer tool life. The new high-pressure cooling system Jetstream Tooling Duo guides the cutting fluid through 2 channels to both the rake and the flank face, significantly reducing thermal and abrasive tool wear. Additional benefits include significantly improved surface finishes, longer tool life and, as a result, lower tool change times. • Quick and easy to install in any machine tool and working with pressures from 5 to 300 bar • Suitable for shank tools as well as for Seco-Capto™ connection, for machining of every material • Increased cutting data, better surface finish and extremely long tool life due to lower thermal load of the indexable inserts resulting in reduced time for tool changing

Extremely safe and cost efficient Groove turning system – MDT The Seco MDT system (Multi Directional Turning) consists of one and two ended inserts as well as mono and modular toolholders for internal, external and axial machining. The key is the Secoloc V-top clamp together with the serrations on the bottom of the inserts, which has 4 times as much lateral stability compared to conventional grooving systems.

Set-up/Machining recommendations The mounting should be stable. The overhang of the toolholder should be as small as possible. The centre height should never deviate by more than ± 0,1 mm from the workpiece centre. Parting-off An insert with a neutral edge (N) normally results in a longer useful life of the insert. The useful life of the insert can be increased by reducing the feed rate or stopping the feed entirely before breakthrough.

Grooving with Secomax CBN™ Grades and cutting data recommendations CBN is produced by sintering crystals of cubic boron nitride under extremely high pressure and high temperature. The result is a wear resistant composite with properties very close to diamond. The hot hardness, oxidation resistance and fracture toughness give CBN excellent edge retention and long tool life in the machining of hard ferrous materials, some cast irons and some superalloys. These physical properties give CBN superb performance when machining dry. • • • •

Full Face inserts are available for MDT in grades CBN010, CBN170 and CBN200 CBN010 is suitable for hard iron and superalloys CBN170 for machining of superalloys CBN200 for application in hard iron and cast material

Parting-off • An insert with a neutral edge (N) normally results in a longer useful life of the insert. • The useful life of the insert can be increased by reducing the feed rate or stopping the feed entirely before breakthrough.
