For her first 2 years in the UK Alla extended her knowledge working as a cutter and seamstress for a top bridal designer before taking a 'leap of faith' to open her own studio, making bespoke wedding dresses with an accent on individual style and excellent personal service. And the rest as they say is history! Today her unique wedding gowns comprise of the best of British classical design complimented by a touch of dramatic Russian flair.

John Parnell is a professional entertainer who specialises in Weddings, Anniversaries, and other special family occasions. These days more and more people like to book a magician to perform Close-Up Magic around the tables during the meal at the reception to keep their guests entertained, and while John has been performing close-up magic for many years and has also twice been the President of the Coventry Magic Circle, he can also offer additional skills to help make your day even more fun for everyone. Quite often that period of time when the photographs are being taken can leave many people standing around and children getting frustrated with all the waiting. During this time John can appear as “2nd Best Man” an 8 foot tall stilt-walker, dressed in Top Hat and Tails of course, keeping the children entertained and presenting an ideal opportunity for your guests to take photographs of their own standing alongside him What about after the meal? While the speeches are being read out, as good as they will be, the children can start to get a little bored because it is not something the children really enjoy, so this is when John can take the children into a different room for some juggling, plate spinning and balloon modelling to keep them entertained. It has even been known for many of the adults to sneak in to join in and do some juggling as the speeches come to an end. What then? There is often a lull between the cutting of the cake and the disco or band starting. This is when John can demonstrate yet another skill by performing a Hula-Hoop-Dance routine which will have everyone laughing. After that John invites the wedding guests to all come and have a try at Hula Hooping themselves. Whether you have had a little drink or two by then or not, everyone will be laughing and giggling as they try to outdo each other with their hooping skills. Of course, you do not have to book the full package as above, if you just want the Stilt-Walking, or just want the magic, then that too is perfectly fine. The wine! For those of you who may be wondering exactly what is a Master of Wine? There are only 300 Masters of Wine (MWs) in the world. The notoriously rigorous exams to achieve accreditation as a Master of Wine were first set in 1953, being held once a year in the UK, US and Australia. Wine tasting skills are tested in three 2-hour papers in which the applicant has to assess, describe and identify a total of 36 ‘blind’ wines that can come from anywhere in the wine-growing world. Commercial and technical expertise is tested in five 3-hour ‘Theory’ exams, with any grade lower than B resulting in a fail. Once through the first 2 elements, applicants then faces a 10,000 word dissertation on an original piece of wine-related research before being admitted to the Institute of Masters of Wine. The road to the exam is a minimum two-year journey of guided self study. It normally takes much longer, the record so far being 17 years! Students are supported by course days, an annual residential study week and, less officially (but just as powerfully), by each other. Education is led by Masters of Wine who trod the road before, and fellow students are passionate wine professionals from all over the world. It is this diverse network and very personal exchange of knowledge that makes the Master of Wine such a rewarding journey, and a great widener of perspective. ‘Students’ are of course people in the wine trade who are also juggling professional and private lives. The potential reward in professional terms is always clear, but the personal cost can sometimes be too much and, sadly, the majority give up before making the final hurdle.

The fact that you want to hire a talented band or fleet-fingered DJ is a given. Finding one is a matter of polling friends, surfing online, shopping around with fine-tuned ears, and making a move quickly -- top talent can get booked up to a year in advance. What type of entertainment suits your personal taste, budget, space allowances, guest demographics, and killer dance moves best? Keep an open mind, and consider these issues to start your search.

Vibe The type of music you choose can set the tone of your wedding and solidify a theme. And remember, it's the thing people most often remember. Think about what musical genre best reflects your personalities and inspires the ambience you want to create: Groovy funk or subdued string quartet? Swanky swing or kickoff-your-shoes-and-sweat zydeco? The way the music

is delivered -- by live band or DJ -- also affects the ambience. The type of music you choose may dictate the choice too -- big band sounds are generally best live, for example.

Variety Are you a little bit country, while he's a little bit rock and roll? Regardless of whether you choose a band or DJ, be sure they play slow and fast songs, and old and new tunes to encourage different sets of guests to hit the dance floor.

For example, a registered landmark reception site may not allow you to use large speakers. Ask these questions before you start scouting bands.
