We never forget we’re home to the Daytona 500 and one of the few places where you are allowed to drive on the beach. All year round you can browse through racing-inspired shops, explore the interactive exhibits at the International Speedway or grab the wheel yourself at a go-kart track. Take a short drive to Deland to experience Florida’s wild places—a birdwatcher’s paradise of migrating birds and waterfowl. You can dip your paddle in a meandering waterway or ﬂy across the water on an air boat. Finish with a quick dip in the 72 degree natural spring at De Leon State Park. After a fun-ﬁlled, action-packed day, one of the best things to do in Daytona Beach is to just sit back and enjoy the water views.

Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse This 175-foot lighthouse, the tallest in Florida, was completed in 1887. A National Historic Landmark, it is one of the best-preserved and most complete light stations in the nation. Climb 203 steps to the top or visit the restored keepers’ dwellings and other buildings, which now house many artifacts and exhibits on maritime and lighthouse history.
