Message from the Head of School O may all who come behind us Find us faithful, May the fire of our devotion Light their way. May the footprints that we leave, Lead them to believe, And the lives we live Inspire them to obey. Dear LV Community, It was a joy to welcome LV alumni and former leaders and teachers back on campus this past weekend to celebrate God’s faithfulness to SPH over the past 30 years. Friday night’s Gala Dinner of Thanksgiving and Saturday’s Homecoming events brought together 100’s of former students, teachers, and leaders, reconnecting over food, friendship, and friendly competition. It was heart warming watching our community animatedly reminiscing on their time together at SPH. Friday night’s Gala opened with a procession of representatives from each graduated class. The representatives entered with alumna, Pepita Salim, ‘14, singing Find Us Faithful - by Steve Green (chorus above). The song captures the essence of our celebration and LV’s heart to honor God with faithful pursuit of Him and of His best for our students. Each class leaves an impact on those who follow. We are grateful to all who are part of the LV story who made LV the school we are today. We are also excited about all those who will continue to drive us forward as we seek to bring glory to God through excellence holistic education. LV has changed a lot over the years. So many improvements and opportunities for students that weren’t available in the early years are our children’s to enjoy, be challenged by, and grow through today. We are grateful for all God is doing at SPH-LV, may He find us faithful! Because He is Faithful, Gregg Thompson Head of School SPH Lippo Village

Carnival of Caring Kindergarten's Heartwarming Community Event In a remarkable display of enthusiasm and community spirit, our Kindy team organized a thrilling carnival day for both parents and students as part of their Mission Service Learning program. This event was not just about having fun; it was a heartwarming way to make a difference in the lives of those in need. The event was a grand success, raising funds through entry fees and game tickets, which will be directed toward helping the local community. The proceeds will be used to purchase essential supplies and support various initiatives to uplift the less fortunate. The Kindergarten Carnival featured an array of delightful carnival games, including ring toss, soccer challenges, fishing games, and even an opportunity for our little ones to express themselves by painting canvas bags. What sets this event apart is the active participation of the students in selling delicious food and refreshing drinks to carnival-goers, adding a personal touch to the festivities. On this occasion, we also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support, making this carnival a resounding success and a memorable experience for everyone involved. This event exemplifies the powerful impact a united community can have when they come together to support the community in need.

A Journey Through Italy Senior School Arts and Humanities Trip Some of our Senior School students recently embarked on an educational journey through Italy, aiming to dive into the history of the Roman Empire, explore church history, and appreciate the artistic brilliance of the Renaissance. Their destinations included Milan, Florence, Rome, and Vatican City. Guided by our dedicated Humanities teachers, students began with informative walking tours led by local experts. These tours unveiled the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, the influence of the church, and the transformative period of the Renaissance. It was a captivating journey into history. Museums played a vital role in this trip. For example, the Leonardo da Vinci Museum allowed students to interact with his inventions, gaining a handson understanding of his genius. At the Galileo Museum, they explored the original telescope and scientific wonders of the era. Art galleries provided a deeper appreciation for Italy's culture. The students were given the opportunity to analyse the historical context and meanings behind the masterpieces. This educational journey fostered a profound connection to Italy's past. From the grandeur of St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City to the architectural wonders of Florence, the students were able to return home with a richer understanding of Italy's history and culture. 6 sph.edu

Back on track! Senior School Athletics Day 2023 We are beyond grateful that our Senior School Athletics Day is back this month, and the excitement is through the roof! After what felt like a lifetime of pandemic-induced hibernation, the school community has come together in the spirit of fun, competition, and sportsmanship. The day was a rollercoaster of thrilling events, from high jumps to hurdles, long-distance runs, and even shot put. Our house teams battled it out fiercely for those all-important bragging rights. But it's not just about winning; it's about making awesome memories, creating new friendships, and showing that our students have an unbreakable spirit. After a challenging hiatus, the return of Athletics Day reminds us of the importance of coming together and having a blast. Our Sports Teams Have Returned! ACSC International Sports Competition Our Sports Teams have returned from their international competitions, not only honing their athletic skills but also making meaningful contributions to communities in need through integrated mission service learning trips. Our girls and boys volleyball teams, along with the boys soccer team, embarked on a journey that extended beyond the boundaries of sports. These competitions were about more than just winning and losing; they were about creating a meaningful impact on the world. For these young athletes, the international competitions served as platforms for personal growth and skill development. The experience of competing against teams from across Asia motivated them to improve their game, learn valuable lessons in teamwork, and develop resilience in the face of challenges. What sets ACSC competitions apart, however, is their commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals. The mission service learning trips, integrated into these competitions, allowed our student-athletes to give back to communities in need. They engaged in volunteer work, supporting local causes and making a positive difference in the lives of those in need. Our students return not only as better athletes but also as individuals who understand the power of sports in making the world a better place. As they step off the field, they carry with them invaluable lessons in compassion, teamwork, and service to others, which will serve them well in all their future endeavors. 12 sph.edu
