Constant - Selbe Dittman

I've been relatively absent from the internet lately, especially on this blog. And it's not because I had a revelation that I had to get off my cellphone and all social media like most people do. It's because I've been in a constant state of discovery and experiencing new things that I just haven't had the time or the will to be here. As most you of know, I moved to college in August and posting went down dramatically. Everyone says blogging and going to college is a feat and I believe them. But that's not what I want to talk about here. I want to talk about my constant state of being surrounded by people and how I am always learning new things from them. How I am constantly wanting to be out of my room and out enjoying the outdoors something I didn't do much when I was home. There are so many things to discover here that it's kind of baffling how many new things I can learn every day. I don't sit at home alone on Saturday nights anymore. I go out with friends and go dancing. I go listen to that band that's actually really good play at that little side street restaurant that only locals know about. I am constantly going. Constantly happy. I don't have a fear of talking to people anymore like I used to. It takes a certain kind of confidence to have a deep, hour long conversation with someone you've only met a couple of times. I have a constant thirst for meeting new people and discovering new things. I have a job as a hostess at a local restaurant. I meet people from all over the world every day I work. Sometimes, these people sit outside with me and tell me their life story while smoking a cigarette and some just walk by with a quick hello. There's nothing more enlightening and heartwarming than hearing a man express his love for his granddaughter or hearing a soldier on leave tell you how long it’s been since he's seen a girl with her hair down. So, as I sit here on my dorm room floor, sipping coffee at eight o' clock at night, I have no regrets about not keeping this blog up. Because I've been living and experiencing new things. And that's all I've ever wanted to do. And now, I have an archive of stories and experiences I can share
