ABOUT ME “ Architecture is not about buildings and the academy’s knowledge, but about a long investigation development and practical experience. In my architectural thinking, a successful architecture strongly creates the sense of delight in lines, light, and shadow. Even more, it will become perfect when blended into the colors of nature and man. I would like get working experience to feel about architecture clearly.”

The requirement is to design a reception hall with 3 different rooms in styles. The space needs a high-end feel since the customers are from mid to high class. Karaoke Lolipop is a parade of color in style of a lolipop, The reception, and the waiting bench is a real eye catch with colorful design. Three karaoke rooms are designed differently for the flexitble customer range. The first room is a hippy and modern room. While the second room is a minimal and elegant designer. However, the third stands out differently by combining the hippy feel with the simplistic of the second room. The design backbone for 4 spaces is the curve line along with colorful wallpaper.

My whole ideas is giving a modern touch of Alternative Rock into the contruction with three-dimension to emphasize the “rock” feel. The space is a miniature of a glass house which make a strong impression. The roof is equipped with projectors which broadcast the long histories of rock. Due to the nature of the glasshouse, the image quality of the projector wouldn’t be very cripsy. Therefore, the screen will be pushed back for clear viewing angle.

On the left of the hall is the reception area; on the right is the area for gift shops and Alternatice rock CD shops. The visitors will go from the left to the right. There will be small glass-walled enclosures where one or two visitors can listen to music. There will be displays of the different musical instruments that once helped make the names of Alternative rock bands: electric guitars, drums, etc. There will be also displays of famous rock bands that marked the history of Alternative rock, with their instruments, personal belongings, photos, records and maybe wax statues.

An extra area will be arranged so that photos of highly artistic values taken by professional photographers or simple fans showing the rock stars performing can be displayed. This area will hold a place where fans as well as visitors can leave messages or draw pictures to express their love and admiration toward Alternative rock music and Alternative rock bands.

DHL being a global company, proposing design projects for it is an awfully difficult job. These projects must go through a severe selection and the final choice will be an idea worthy of the stature of this multinational company. The model for the exhibition gallery is based on the characteristic means of transportation of this forwarding company.

INTERIOR PORTFOLIO Different companies have different functional space layouts. Advertizing and design companies in particular have typically special office layouts: Marketing whose mission is to look for profit-earning contracts for the company and to establish and maintain contacts with business partners; Reception is where customers are received and this area needs large space and designing to reflect the stature of the company’s brand; Customer Service is where contracts are signed and meetings between staff and partners take place. This is where the company’s products and performances are displayed to inspire trust to the visitors or prospectice customers; Creativity comprises the Creative Director as its head with different teams working together, each team in charge of a project and consisting of 3 members at least (Safety, Marketing and Design). This department is the most important organ of a design company.

Project Management has the duty to present the project and report its development to the customer. The working space for this department is a large meeting room with the minimum seating capacity of 30 people and fully equipped for conferences and presentations for the staff and customers and partners. Operations manages the different projects of the company, coordinates the staff’s work so as to meet the dealines. The Management are the heads of the company. They give the final approval for the projects and sign the contracts. The interior design of the working space of the Management must express the status of a leader. Technical and Production is where production plans are examined and approved before production process starts. This is also where the company’s own production team meet with external production units. Administration & Accounts is in charge of the legal, business and accounting paperwork of a company.

Leisure space: Library is where the staff can read books, magazines for entertainment and access resources and documentation for their jobs. Resting Area is where members of creative teams can find peaceful and quiet environment conducive to ideas; Coffee and Food is where food and drinks are served; Gymnasium with sports equipment where staff can play billiards, table football, table tennis, video games, etc. There is place for those who want to practice workout, yoga or aerobic, or whatever physical exercises that office workers need to keep themselves fit, healthy and alert. Showers with Locker Room: for the staff to use after sports.

GRADUATE PROJECT JWT OFFICE Basing on the above study of different activities in a company, it is easy for us to arrange the different areas as follows: The Reception hall: This is the face of the company; visitors will go through the Reception Hall to go further inside. Therefore, the company logo must be displayed here and the decoration must carry the particular mark of the company.

SECOND FLOOR PLAN

The Customer Service Area: The place where we receive visitors and meet the customers must have displays that cover the usual operations of the company: this is an indirect advertisement for the activities and stature of the company. The Administrative Area: The workplace of several different departments must use the open-plan office layout that gives comfort and brings about efficiency. The Creativity Area: As this is the most important area of the company, it will be specially arranged with small spaces to allow the designers to work in small groups, in an environment that helps them to concentrate and find ideas. The Director’s office: is also the face of the company, that’s why the design must convey the dignity of the position. The location must be chosen to allow supervising the whole personnel.

FRIST FLOOR PLAN

The Smoking Room: is regarded as a must for people working in the creative business. This is where they relax and find ideas. The Library and Research: must be arranged so that the members of the Administrative Department as well as of the Creativity Teams can look up for resources and documention. All the company’s staff can come here for relaxing readings, too. The Leisure and Relaxing Area: is essential for people with sedentary work. Playing light and easy games or doing physical exercises helps them recover their health and fitness to carry on with their work. A quiet corner with some kind of view where one can sit with a cup of coffee can be very useful, too.
