During your trip you will discover the main cultural sites of Rhône-Alps and Auvergne’s regions: the Museum of Confluences (opening in December 2014), the Cave of Pont D’Arc and the city of Le Puy-enVelay with its cathedral. You will drive from UNESCO locations to UNESCO sites and will have an unforgettable trip in the time from past to the future!
FRIDAY MARCH 27: LYON In the morning: Arrival to Lyon www.lyon-france.com Lunch Discovery of the new Museum “musée des Confluences”: Spreading over 3000 m², the permanent collections propose a four-act narrative, divided in four rooms, each with a unique scenography. In a spirit of discovery and knowledge sharing, motivated by the pleasure and desire to understand, the museum collections span the following subject areas: - Origins, the narratives of the world, civilisations, the theatre of men, species, the fabric of the living, eternities, visions of the afterlife. www.museedesconfluences.fr

SATURDAY MARCH 28: AUVERGNE – LE PUY-EN-VELAY Discover the exceptional religious heritage of Le Puy-en-Velay: the Saint-Michel d'Aiguilhe chapel, perched on its volcanic cone, and the statue of Our Lady of France which dominates the town. The cathedral, a classified UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the starting point of the “Via Podiensis”, the Saint James of Compostella pilgrim’s way. www.ot-lepuyenvelay.fr The countryside comes to meet the town around an ancient fountain, bringing all the products cultivated on the farm or gathered in the wild. From red fruits to mushrooms, the market follows the rhythm of the seasons.
SUNDAY MARCH 29: ARDECHE During you stay in the department Ardèche, you will discover a fabulous landscape rich of cultural treasures and vineyards. www.ardeche-guide.com You will visit the impressive replica of the decorated Cave of Pont d’Arc (Grotte Chauvet), The cave of Pont d’Arc, which will open on the 25th April 2015. The real Grotte was classified by UNESCO in June 2014.
It invites one to journey back in time, a wonderful dive into the heart of humanity and a major landmark in the history of civilisation. For several years now, we have mobilised to offer the world the most beautiful replicas with the main mineral, palaeontological, archaeological and artistic wealth of the original cave.
