An Intro to the Taste of Ellerslie Conference Conference Details Weekend Schedule & Session Descriptions Location & Transportation How to Register Contact Us

Our of Ellerslie" ! ! "Taste ! ! ! ! ! ! !conference ! ! ! is a spiritually power-packed two days of going after Jesus Christ. It's two days of cultivating deeper intimacy with our Lord, falling even more in love with Scripture, and building our lives upon the solid rock of unchanging Truth. This poignant weekend will provide you a little slice of our world, venturing through seven of the most significant "Ellerslie" messages. Their pithy, thrilling, thunderous, inspiring, and life-altering truths challenge and inspire down the narrow way of the Cross. You will come away with a new sense of purpose and passion for the things of God, as well as a clearer vision of Godʼs sacred intent for your life. Ellerslie is a unique training school that is difficult to describe in mere text - it's one of those things that is better to just experience for yourself. It's a place where everything is about Jesus Christ, and an environment that is set-apart for the pleasure of our King. Men are built into true men - masculine, honorable, and heroic. And women are built into true women - selflessly showcasing Christ-like radiance. It's an atmosphere of honor that reflects the priorities of Heaven rather than the hollow counterfeits of the world. Jesus is rightly treated as King here and we tremble before His majesty. His Word is the final say on every matter, and we seek to bring Him glory in all we do and say. Just being in this environment for a few days can have a life-changing impact, so even if you are unable to come to one of our semester-long training programs, we invite you to to join us for a weekend!

Weekend Schedule FRIDAY 1:00 - 5:30 p.m. - Check-in 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. - Dinner on your own (restaurants nearby) 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. - Session One The Cave of Adullam - the place of the privileged This session is a classic favorite on the Ellerslie Campus. It turns the tables on the American Christian mindset that seeks peace, comfort, and ease as the prime cultural virtues. It introduces a startling mindset that flows straight out of Scripture - the mindset that delights in difficulty, exults in challenge, glories in painful crosses, and would readily choose to be alongside King David in the discomforts of the Cave of Adullam rather than spend life alongside the rejected King Saul in posh palace living and creature comforts. For, as Christian history has declared, "Whithersoever the rightful King goeth, so gladly follow His saints."

SATURDAY 7:15 - 8:00 a.m. - Breakfast 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. - Session Two The Mountain of Giants - the epicenter of war This session focuses on the life, faith, and heroism of the Biblical character Caleb, and brings forth the commission to every believing man and woman to follow in his valiant footsteps. After five years of vanquishing the 31 hostile kingdoms within the land of Canaan, the Israelite company has still not yet removed the chief power in the land. The most fearsome and formidable giants (the sons of Anak) still reside on top of the mountain of Hebron in the territory now known as Judah - mocking the powers of God and calling into question His ability to deliver. Caleb seeks to rectify this wrong, and in so doing proves the character of Truth-lovers throughout history - they cannot sit by idle and slumbering when giants of sin stand openly blaspheming the armies of the Living God.

10:30 - 12:00 p.m. - Session Three The Righteous - as God is . . . and as man ought to be Most Christians know that righteousness is an important thing to have, but there are few who know what righteousness actually is. As a result, the notion of Christ's righteousness fails to rouse many of us to any sense of gratitude or plant within us any sense of fight and fervor. But righteousness is more than a pretty synonym for "pure" or "moral." It's a beautiful and powerful picture of God come to earth - and the revelation of His great Gospel purpose is found wonderfully packaged in the understanding of this astounding word. 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. - Lunch 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. - Session Four Enemies of the State - beware the assassin There are two powers within our bodies that are at war with each other. In the New Testament, Paul refers to these arch-rivaled powers as the Flesh and the Spirit. There is a hankering within each of us for darkness, a strange magnetic pull towards self-satisfaction, and a seemingly bizarre repulsion to the notions of radical givenness to the Person of Jesus Christ. This "Fleshly" compulsion is the great enemy of our souls. For if the Flesh is fed and nurtured it will rule our lives and eternally destroy our souls. But if it is properly disposed of, in accordance with the Gospel pattern of crucifixion and burial, then the Spirit Life of Christ can gloriously operate within the believing man or woman's body and thusly enable the Christian life to powerfully and triumphantly work as it was meant to. 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. - Session Five Honor - the code of the mighty Honor is a lost concept in the modern Church. A certain lassitude and sloppiness rules in the souls of today's men and women, and heavenly decorum has all but vanished from the corridors of the twice-born. The nobility of the sons and daughters of God is strangely missing, and no one even seems to realize it is gone. But this is a message that will fan into flame the unquenchable desire to bring it back. Copyright 2011 The Church at Ellerslie. All rights reserved. 4:45 - 6:15 p.m. - Session Six

Seventy Times Seven The Kingdom, power, and glory of our King evidenced on earth

This is one of the most important messages in the Ellerslie curriculum. It enunciates the pattern for what prayer is, how prayer works, and even the recipe for the "impossible-for-God-not-to-answer-prayer." It's a peek inside the prayer closet of the mighty prophet Elijah. It sets forth a model for something Ellerslie often refers to as "wrestling prayer," and the Bible simply refers to as "fervent and effectual prayer." This is a session that passes along the great prayer secrets of Brainerd, Hyde, Howells, Bounds, Payson, and Ravenhill and will forever alter your mentality towards the sacred task of prayer. 6:15 - 7:15 p.m. - Dinner 7:15 - 9:00 p.m. - Session Seven The Growl for Glory - the purpose of the mighty The Christian man or woman is motivated by one single desire - to ensure that God is seen in all His beauty, holiness, and power. We want to see our God viewed accurately, the spit removed from His precious face, the crown of mockery lifted from His royal brow. The Bible's term for this "accurate portrayal" and this "weighty picture of His true worth" is the word Glory. And thusly, the Glory of our God is our one great pursuit. Eric Ludy regards this particular session as one of his personal favorites, and you will hear his affinity and passion for its contents erupt as he thunders forth this truth. This message alone is worth the entire weekend.

SUNDAY 8:00 - 8:30 a.m. - Breakfast 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. - Group Photo 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. - Book Signing & Fellowship 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. - Ellerslie Worship Service 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. - Check-out and Goodbyes

Make sure that your flight arrival time on Friday is prior to 4pm and that your departure time on Sunday is after 2:15pm. If so, then you will be able to take advantage of this deal.

2.
