WHY 25 CONNECTS? ¿POR QUÉ 25CONECTA?

VIRTUAL PUBLIC EVENT - EVENTO PÚBLICO VIRTUAL

SECT IO N 3

WHY 25CONNECTS?

25CONNECTS IS A COMMUNITY PLANNING PROCESS THAT AIMS TO PROVIDE THE DESIGN RECOMMENDATIONS AND TOOLS TO SUPPORT A FUTURE WEST 25TH STREET CORRIDOR FOCUSED ON WALKABLE, TRANSIT-SUPPORTIVE, MIXED-USE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT THAT WILL SUPPORT THE INVESTMENT OF THE RTA’S METROHEALTH LINE BUS RAPID TRANSIT (BRT) LINE.

WE CALL THIS PROJECT 25CONNECTS BECAUSE WE BELIEVE THE WORK CONDUCTED DURING THIS PROCESS WILL CONNECT THE VARIOUS COMMUNITIES TOGETHER THROUGH A NEW TRANSIT LINE. THE SUCCESS OF THIS PROJECT LIES IN STRENGTHENING THE LINKS BETWEEN PUBLIC TRANSIT, SURROUNDING DEVELOPMENT, AND THE NEEDS OF ALL PEOPLE.

25CONECTA ES UN PROCESO DE PLANIFICACIÓN COMUNITARIA QUE TIENE COMO OBJETIVO PROPORCIONAR HERRAMIENTAS DE DISEÑO Y RECOMENDACIONES PARA APOYAR EL FUTURO DEL CORREDOR WEST 25TH CENTRADO EN EL DESARROLLO DE COMUNIDADES CAMINABLES, TRANSITABLES, Y DE USO MIXTO QUE RESPALDARÁ LA INVERSIÓN DE LA LÍNEA METROHEALTH DE LA RTA, UN SISTEMA DE BUSES DE TRÁNSITO RÁPIDO (BRT).

LLAMAMOS A ESTE PROYECTO 25CONECTA PORQUE CREEMOS QUE EL TRABAJO REALIZADO DURANTE ESTE PROCESO CONECTARA LAS VARIAS COMUNIDADES DEL CORREDOR ATRAVÉS DE UNA LÍNEA NUEVA DE TRÁNSITO. EL ÉXITO DE ESTE PROYECTO SE BASA EN EL FORTALECIMIENTO DE LOS ENLACES ENTRE EL TRÁNSITO PÚBLICO, LA ELABORACIÓN Y LAS NECESIDADES DE LA TODAS LAS PERSONAS.

While housing alone is traditionally deemed affordable when consuming no more than 30% of income, the H+T Index incorporates transportation costs—usually a household’s secondlargest expense—to show that location-efficient places can be more livable and affordable. The H+T Index offers an expanded view of affordability, one that combines housing and transportation costs and sets the benchmark at no more than 45% of household income.
