SIP AND SEW DC
We're sipping, we're sewing AND partying! Come join us for Sip and Sew DC's sewing party where you will learn basic sewing techniques to complete a project while listening to your favorite music and enjoying a glass a wine. The music will have you rocking your way through the event! All materials included plus two complimentary glasses of wine. No experience necessary! Class is from at 3pm - 7pm. Class Fee: $50

BEGINNER SEWING 1 Entry level class for true beginners. Students will learn to make a pillow, tote bag and pull on pajama bottoms. Emphasis will be placed on machine operation and reading a pattern. BEGINNER SEWING 2 This class is designed for students who have a basic knowledge of sewing or have taken our Beginner Sewing 1 class. Students will make two shirts and build the following skills: buttonholes, collar, sleeves and cuff. BEGINNER SEWING 3 Students will learn to construct and assemble a skirt and a pair of pants. Emphasis will be placed on inserting a zipper, hemming, fitting, construction, buttonholes and top-stitching techniques. OPEN STUDIO P & SEW DC DAY PARTY Need help finishing a project? This is the class for you! Open studio is for students who need extra help with unfinished sewing projects, alterations, zippers, buttonholes or any other sewing techniques. Schedule: September 4, 18, October 2, 16, November 6, 20, and December 4, 18, 2019 6pm - 9pm Class Fee: $50 Join us for Open Sewing! at Sew Creative Lounge. This is not class, but rather a time that you can come in to sew with fellow sewers, use our machines and learn from each other. Fridays 11am - 6pm Saturdays and Sundays 11am - 4pm $10 per hour (*3 Free hours per month for members*)
SEW CREATIVE MEETUPS Join us for our monthly Mount Rainier American Sewing Guild meeting! Learn about our local sewing guild, participate in workshops and sign up to join. SPECIALTY CLASSES PERFECT FIT JEANS FOR MEN & WOMEN Learn to create chic looking jeans that rival any designer’s jeans. Students will learn how to sew denim details such as topstitching, pocket techniques, hardware and fly front. September 10, 24, October 1, and 8, 2019 6pm - 9pm Class Fee: $150 BEGINNING QUILTING 101 Have you always wanted to learn how to make a quilt from start to finish? Then this is the class for you! Create two quilting projects made of four simple quilt blocks. September 14, 28, October 5, and 12, 2019 1:30pm - 4:30pm Class Fee: $150 COSPLAY (COSTUME) SEWING In this 12 hour class, you will learn how to make your own cosplay costume. Students are allowed to work on their cosplay or any other costume project of choice with the guidance of an experienced instructor. These tools will make any project a breeze! September 22, 2019 1:30pm - 4:30pm Class Fee: $50 BUSINESS SUIT Making a tailored business suit is generally considered a fairly advanced project. Let’s take a look at a few tips to help make sewing a business suit for the first time an achievable project. September 27, October 4, 11, and 25, 2019 6pm - 9pm Class Fee: $150 SIP & PAINT ON SILK Back by popular demand! Led by master silk artist Diane Tuckman, you will learn the basics of silk painting while creating two samples and a silk scarf. October 19, 2019 1:30pm - 4:30pm Class Fee: $65 CONTROL MESH Learn how to add a tummy control panel or control mesh to a skirt in this 5 hour workshop. October 13, 2019 1pm - 6pm Class Fee: $65 DENIM JACKET Create the ultimate denim jacket for men and women. This denim jacket will feature pockets, button closure, top-stitching and much more. October 22, 29, November 5, and 12, 2019 6pm - 9pm Class Fee: $150 HOME DECOR BASICS: JELLY ROLL RUG & CURTAIN Want to spice up your home with your very own jelly roll rug and coordinated curtain? Then this class is for you! Learn the basics of jelly roll rug construction and creating curtains with grommets. October 27, November 3, 10, and 17, 2019 1:30pm - 4:30pm FASHION ON CANVAS Bring your dream dress to life on canvas with Fashion Designer Almira Léonché. In this workshop, you will create a beautiful wall hanging of a woman dressed in an evening gown designed by you! November 1, 2019. 6-9pm Class Fee: $45 HOLIDAY COCKTAIL DRESS Be the highlight for the holidays with your custom-made cocktail dress. Bring your fabric, pattern and notions to learn tips and tricks for creating your ideal dress. November 2, 9, 16, and 23, 2019 1:30pm - 4:30pm Class Fee: $150 BEGINNING QUILTING: HOLIDAY / LAP QUILT WALLING This is another great beginner’s quilting project. This class will focus on the classic, simple and very modern square-within-a-square block setting as well as walking students through quilting basics. November 2, 9, 16, and 23, 2019 1:30pm - 4:30pm Class Fee: $150 PATTERN-MAKING: DRAPING Join us for this four-week course to create your own pattern using a process called draping that will help you create perfectly fitted patterns on a dress form. November 8, 22, December 6, and 13, 2019 6pm - 9pm Class Fee: $150 SERGER BASICS Take your serger out of the box or closet and learn to thread and operate it with confidence. Projects include a pillow or dinner place mats and napkins as well as creating a booklet of sample stitches. November 16, 23 and December 14, 2019 1:30pm - 5:30pm Class Fee: $150
