It may not seem like much but I’ve been toiling away, keeping updated content on our blog (Just Sew Cris). This first Newsletter highlights a few of the blog posts that I want to share with YOU, our loyal subscriber. I hope that you enjoy it, share it with others, and visit Just Sew Cris to stay up to date on what we’ve got going on. I am extremely grateful for your support and hope that you will remain a loyal reader as we continue to grow. A Look Back: Emmys 2016 Best Dressed
Did you miss the 2016 Emmys on September 18th? We sure did. So in honor, we take a look back at the Emmys 2016 Best Dressed. Who wore your favorite dress? Did you notice any trends? We noticed a trend of white dresses with cut-out shapes. Aimee Teagarden , formerly of the acclaimed television show Friday Night Lights was just one example. Visit our blog to see who else wore the trend.
Wrapped Up In Style
Continuing our series on local events, we participated in a FABULOUS event last Sunday. A fashion show for a non-profit organization, the National Alliance of Free Women Inc. It is an organization that promotes the empowerment of women. Headed by Dr. Mary McBean, they were able to pull off an extremely successful event. To read more and view photos from the event, visit our blog.
Cris-Croched: Drawstring Bag & Zipper Wristlet
W
e started a new series of posts called Cris-Croched (pronounced kriscrawshd). In this series, we share finished projects that we've completed. Many are made from patterns from fellow bloggers, others are from creations we've made ourselves. When surfing YouTube, we came across a tutorial for a wristlet/cosmetic bag from The Crafty Gemini. We whipped one up, using a curtain purchased at Goodwill. The fabric resembled a canvas type
material. It was pretty simple to make, and all you need is the fabric, thread, batting, and zipper. Another project we made which can also be used as a cosmetic bag was a simple drawstring bag. This one is from one of our favorite web sites for projects and inspiration...Craftsy! Be sure to stop by the blog to see how the wristlet and drawstring bag turned out.
