Sew Cris Croche Newsletter 2016 November 2

From The Editor Thank you for reading our newsletter! I hope you all are doing well and enjoyed the Halloween holiday. Another month has come and gone, and I am happy to be writing this, our second newsletter. It’s been a hectic month, but we are pushing forward to achieve our goals. We have a very ambitious plan ahead and will be working hard over the next couple months in order to be successful.

We will be working to increase inventory, striving to complete a collection of dresses to debut at a fashion show which we plan to host. Please save the date, December 17, 2016. This is our tentative date for the fashion show.

We also plan to attend various expos, conferences, and events which will allow for the opportunity to network and build relationships with our market base and other small businesses. Please spread the word, and share our blog (www.justsewcris.weebly.com) with family and friends. I always welcome any advice and/or suggestions.

Sincerely,

Cristal Williams

Let’s Get Connected Social media is all the rage these days. From Twitter to SnapChat, everyone is using some form of social media to connect with friends and family. Sew Cris-Croche has begun to establish a social media presence and we’d like you to join us! Our handle is @sewcriscroche. We’ve been sharing a few photos on Instagram, so be sure to connect with us there.

We have also been pretty active on Pinterest.

From The Blog Here are a few highlights from the blog you may have missed if you haven’t been reading consistently. We have an ongoing series that we do on the blog, spotlighting Red Carpet Designers. Recently we spotlighted Carolina Herrera. Did you happen to pick up the September 30th 2016 issue of the Hollywood Reporter? We got a real treat after going to the mailbox and finding the issue with Kerry Washington and Christian Louboutin posed on the cover.

Perfect inspiration to do another Red Carpet Designers Spotlight.

In our look back at Emmys 2016 Best Dressed, it came to our attention that we didn't mention any of the awards for costume design. In fact, the HBO show Game of Thrones won an Emmy for Outstanding Costumes For A Period/Fantasy Series, Limited Series Or Movie. We did a short piece displaying the dress that Emilia Clarke, an actress on the show, wore on the red carpet.

Trick Or Treat: Halloween On A Budget Did you have a spooky Halloween? Ours was filled with ghosts and goblins. We curated a list of free Halloween Costume ideas for our readers to try. The scary part came in when we made a last minute costume, a Medieval Princess, with the help of a free pattern from www.fleecefun.com, a skirt and glittery tulle dress from GoodWill, and a sheer scarf from a local yard sale. It didn’t quite come out as imagined but you can be the judge. Trick‌or Treat?
