JACK HANNA: LIVE ANIMAL SHOWS Television personality, author and conservationist, Jack Hanna, joins us once again to entertain and delight SEWE attendees at the Gaillard Center. One of the most visible and respected animal ambassadors in the world, Jack’s enthusiasm and hands-on approach to wildlife conservation has won him widespread acclaim. In addition to frequent appearances on programs including Late Night with David Letterman, Jack hosts the three-time Emmy Award winning series Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild. BUSCH WILDLIFE SANCTUARY Busch Wildlife Sanctuary will explore the wonders of natural ecosystems. From bobcats, foxes and birds of prey to alligators and snakes, SEWE attendees will get an up-close look at the animals that call these places home. Seating is first-come, first-served. Orvis will be offering complimentary fly fishing casting lessons all weekend. Try your hand at angling or improve upon your skills with the fly fishing professionals on-site. On Sunday, legendary angler Tom Rosenbauer will be demonstrating fly casting all day. 2

NEW STRICTLY SOUTHERN The Palmetto State Decoy Collectors Association and SEWE present the fifth annual antique decoy exhibit, Strictly Southern, an exhibit of antique, museum quality waterfowl decoys from the South. Featuring regional iconic examples from Maryland, Virginia and the Carolinas, provided by members of PSDCA. 3

SEWE’s Kids for Conservation (KFC) program promotes wildlife and environmental conservation awareness for tri-county youth. JUNIOR DUCK STAMP ART CONTEST Sponsored by South Carolina Ducks Unlimited

Once again, SEWE has partnered with SCDNR and the US Fish & Wildlife Service for the SC Junior Duck Stamp Contest. Combining science and art, this program teaches K-12 students about waterfowl and wetlands conservation. NEW THE RISE AND FALL OF CHARLESTON’S URBAN VULTURES 11 am, Saturday, February 15

Charleston once hosted numerous “wakes” of black vultures that followed the trail of discarded meat from the city’s abattoirs to the city market to the open air dumps. Join CCPL’s historian, Dr. Nic Butler, for a look back at the once-common birds known as “Charleston eagles” and the changes in local culture that ended their reign over the city’s skyline. Join Windy Knolls Farm owner and master trainer, Bill Coburn, as he showcases the fascinating world of the Border Collie breed’s herding instinct. Watch his collies artfully muster sheep and ducks through various obstacles with only a whistle and a few commands. See schedule for times.

NEW ORVIS DEMONSTRATIONS WITH MOSSY POND RETRIEVERS Witness gundogs work their magic as Brad Arington, an Orvis-endorsed hunting dog trainer from Mossy Pond Retrievers in South Georgia, leads retriever demonstrations. See schedule for times.

TWO TANK DOCKDOGS® COMPETITIONS Watch dogs of all breeds and skill levels compete in various water jumping competitions in side-by-side tanks. “Waves” of competition held throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with finals Sunday afternoon. NEW ARTIST IN RESIDENCE AT THE DEWBERRY 5 p.m., Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15

The Dewberry will host SEWE Artist, Stephen Townley Bassett, as its Artist in Residence during SEWE weekend. Best known for his meticulous documentation of South Africa’s rock art heritage, Stephen’s paintings are created in mixed media using pigments and binders from African soil. Visit the living room at The Dewberry throughout the weekend for special programming including, meet and greet with artist, demonstrations, wine tastings and more. Map Your Day SEWE has three continuous loops for ticket and badge holders and two VIP express shuttles for badge holders only. Shuttles are for your convenience but please note bus times can be unpredictable due to traffic. Many venues are walkable (see map). SEWE shuttles operate from 9:45 am through 30 minutes after close of show Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

SEWE shuttle is provided at no additional cost for SEWE ticket and badge holders during show hours. We highly recommend using the free SEWE shuttle service. Ticket or badge required.

ADDITIONAL PARKING Additional parking near Brittlebank will be available on February 15 & February 16 for a flat rate of $5. Follow signage on Lockwood Blvd. to the lot behind the police station on Fishburne Street.

PARKING REMINDERS No parking allowed in the grassy areas in front of Brittlebank. Parking Reminder: There will be limited to no parking at Brittlebank on Friday, February 14.

ACCESSIBILITY Handicap accessible transportation is available; please ask the Durham Bus Service representative for assistance.
