Office Trainee – Summer Lunch Program (20 positions) Office of the Ombudsman April 20, 2011 April 27, 2011 $10.70 Hourly Temporary Assignment – June 2012 to August 2012

There are 20 positions that will be used to facilitate the SFHA summer lunch program for 15 to 20 hours per week. Training for the lunch program begins May 2012. This position is unrepresented. ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Illustrative Only) Management reserves the rights to add, modify, change, or rescind the work assignments of different positions and to make reasonable accommodations so that qualified employees can perform the essential functions of the job.      

Follows oral and written instructions from supervisors and managers Performs a variety of nontechnical routine tasks Assists other SFHA employees with routine tasks Assists with serving lunches to residents during the summer (June to August) Provides residents with information regarding program specifics Establishes and maintains positive relations with residents, resident organizations, community groups and agencies  Observes and enforces SFHA rules and regulations MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE Applicants under 18 years of age must possess an appropriate work permit required by California State Employment Code. As a condition of continued employment, all incumbents must obtain a high school diploma or GED certification within one year of employment in the classification. Sensitivity to and experience working with the ethnically and culturally diverse individuals, communities, agencies and organizations which comprise the constituency of the San Francisco Housing Authority.


KNOWLEDGE Ability to: Follow simple oral instructions; work cooperatively with others; perform tasks appropriate for specific jobs to which assigned. SKILLS Must have telephone skills, accurate file and record keeping skills; basic math skills; basic typing or computer skills. SELECTION PLAN Applicants meeting the minimum qualifications will be forwarded to the hiring department for further consideration.
