Chapter 4: Ms. Teofilo asked why there are so many people on the waitlist with so many vacant units? Mrs. Martin-Mason responded that the Housing Authority does not have an abundance of vacant units. Currently, the Housing Authority is at 94.7% lease-up at the moment and moving towards meeting the HUD requirement for lease up. Ms. Schexnayder asked when the Housing Authority last purged the waitlist. Ms. McCray-Dickerson responded in 2009. Ms. Teofilo asked how preferences are processed? Mrs. Martin-Mason responded that a point system will be allotted to the preferences and individuals may qualify for more than one preference. Depending on the points an individual may receive, they may be expedited through the waitlist. An individual that does not qualify for any preferences will be on the waitlist according to the date and time of the application. Chapter 5: No questions, comments or suggestions.
