L

incoln the American International School (Asociacion Escuelas Lincoln), founded in 1936, serves a diverse community. Most of our students are expatriates from different countries who after two to three years will be transferred to other countries around the world and will be entering other educational systems. Lincoln is located in the suburb of La Lucila, Vicente Lopez, overlooking the river Rio de la Plata. It has excellent educational and sports facilities; and it maintains together with the Municipalidad de Vicente Lopez, an Ecological Reserve and a public park by the river. Although some families stay at Lincoln for a few years, we have a strong core of students that begin in Kinder 4 and continue through graduation. The impact of the Argentine experience on these internationally mobile students is extraordinary. Most of the alumni maintain close contact with the school and they have formed an Alumni Association with 3.500 members, 95% with residence abroad. The Alumni reunions take place regularly, alternating between Argentina and the United States. The Mission of Asociación Escuelas Lincoln, the American International School of Buenos Aires, is to provide an education based on a United States accredited curriculum in an environment of academic excellence that develops ethical, responsible, and globally conscious world citizens. Our goal is to ensure the academic, social, and personal success of the student as an individual. Toward that end, we strive to maintain a student centered community with a low student/teacher ratio and an atmosphere that encourages cooperative learning and independent thinking. While English is the first language of the School and the community, students are drawn from over 48 countries. The academic and social experience at Lincoln is bilingual and multicultural. Our academic program is U.S.-based with an international orientation and a strong Argentine component. Lincoln is the only school in Argentina accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in the United States for instruction of pre-school, elementary, and secondary curricula. Our program is accredited in the Argentine system through grade 9 (EGB) for all students and in grades 10-12 for those students who enroll in the optional Polimodal. Lincoln is also a member of the European Council of International Schools.

Lincoln is characterized by a close student/teacher relationship, dynamic, innovative and traditional educational methods, and by a multi-cultural, bilingual experience. All of our graduates are prepared to go on to university, either in the U.S., Argentina or worldwide. To facilitate post-secondary admissions we offer the I.B. and Advanced Placement Programs, and the Polimodal. We offer a full after-school activities program and numerous sports activities. Campus facilities include seven computer labs with 20/25 computers each, 5 laptop computer labs (with 20 computers each),computer networked classrooms with full internet access, an Olympic-size, acclimatized swimming-pool, two libraries with approximately 25,000 volumes, band and choral rooms, science labs, two gymnasiums, two theatres, cafeteria, two sports fields, tennis courts.
