PRESIDENT ’S MESSAGE

Dear Members, First up, congratulations to Club Member Mr. Peter Gilchrist on being awarded the Sportsman of the Year 2020 for his achievements for Singapore in Billiards. No stranger to significant awards, Peter is a fourtime World Billiards Champion (Long-up format) and was also awarded the Singapore Sportsman of the Year in 2014. I would like to thank all Club Members for their immense support of the F&B. In the three months from July to September 2020, since the re-opening of the Oval Restaurant, Victoria Room and the Padang Restaurant, we have recorded in excess of $1.0m in F&B sales, a 24% increase for the same venues compared to the corresponding period in 2019. To cope with the increased F&B demand, we have brought back many of our Malaysian staff who are both happy to be back and also grateful to be working again. Sports continues busily, albeit in a controlled manner and we hope that Phase 3 will bring more opportunities to play regular competitive sport both at the Padang and the Dempsey locations. We are very grateful that the authorities granted us permission to reopen the billiard tables and dart boards in the Men’s Bar and Members have been informed of the strict safe-distancing guidelines accompanying their use. Fancy a game of quoit or croquet anyone? Look out for upcoming details. In spite of the pandemic, the management and staff of the Singapore Cricket Club are determined to organise and present our Members with two months of festivities as we draw closer to Christmas and the New Year. Until there is greater clarity on the easing of safedistancing measures and what will be permitted

under Phase 3, at the time of writing, the many events organised this festive period are meant to bring the SCC Family together in a safe manner virtually. Events that will take place physically will be conducted in accordance with guidelines applicable then. Together with this issue of Padang magazine, you would have received a special festive booklet supplement – much thicker this year - filled with extravagant menus to peruse, takeaway deals, events to note down and diarise and – new this year - festive hampers, to purchase for yourself or as gifts to loved ones. In the meanwhile, keep on visiting the Club and responsibly patronise the F&B outlets that are operational. I know many are experiencing pandemic fatigue, but so long as we continue to band together, we will pull through. I thank you for remaining gracious with our staff as they carry out their duties to ensure everybody adheres to the safety measures, so the Club can remain open for our Members and their guests to enjoy. While the past months have been trying for many, let’s look forward and make the last two months of 2020 joyous ones – something easily achieved with all the upcoming SCC festive treats and events. On behalf of the General Committee, I wish all our Hindu and Christian Members and their loved ones a Happy Deepavali and Christmas respectively, and to all Members our compliments of the season and may you have a wonderful 2021. See you at the Clubhouse!

Zoher Motiwalla President, Singapore Cricket Club

ANNUAL STAFF FUND Members are hereby invited to voluntarily contribute to the SCC Staff ‘Annual Ang Pow Fund’. It is an SCC “tradition” that this contribution amounts to the equivalent of one month’s subscription and the fund will be fully dispersed in the month January 2021 before the Chinese New Year as an ex-gratia payment that is equally distributed amongst all members of staff. This is the only occasion in the year when Members may show their appreciation to the Club’s employees. In keeping with recent practice, the amount will be debited from Members’ Accounts and will be reflected in the November 2020 Statement of Account and will be deducted via GIRO on 21st Dec 2020. This contribution as previously stated is wholly voluntarily and members may give written notice prior to 21 December 2020 should they choose to make a smaller, larger or no contribution at all. We would also be pleased to accept an email notification to ang.pow@scc.org.sg, as to your choice of option. On behalf of all SCC’s employees, the Management would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patronage and support of the Club and its staff over this past year.

OBITUARIES The Club records with deep regret the passing of our Members. Our sincere condolences go out to the families of the departed.

CLUB NEWS

BALI MEMORIAL 2020

By Jon Leow

For most of us, 2020 has been a year to forget. But we must remember that it has now been 18 years since the horrific events of 12 October 2002 in Bali. The circumstances of the current pandemic has meant that most of us will not have the opportunity to physically pay our respects to our fallen Clubmates in what has become the traditional Dawn Service – social distancing means that this year will have to be a much smaller service. That said, no one from the SCC should fail to remember the past, such is the history of the Club, and honour those who came before them. Honouring those who have passed, especially on 12 October is never easy, and yet we as a Club and a Rugby Section have been back to the Padang year on year to remember and honour them. It is with the passing of time that more and more of the Section that run on each weekend representing the Club do not know the eight clubmates we lost in Bali, but we still honour them with the insignia that adorns each and every jersey of each of the Section’s representative teams. Time is said to wait for no man, and in a flash 18 years have passed. Young colts have become seasoned growlers and yet, for those that had the opportunity to know those men that we lost, the memories remain vivid and the heart recalls fondly. Stories will certainly come back, as will the beer and the coffee (with a dash of “Bundy”), and it will be a day of memory, honour and celebration. That a Club such as ours, and indeed the sport of Rugby Union, can bring together people from diverse backgrounds and cultures under one banner, and no matter what, that tribe will always hold true (even at a time of Coronavirus and the necessity to broadcast the Dawn Service over the internet, rather than hold it in person). While the global pandemic has forced changes, as with much of what has happened since 12 October 2002, we will all adapt and change while holding dear to our heart the memory of those not only from the Club, but all 202 who lost their lives that fateful night.

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.” Laurence Binyon – “For the Fallen”

Lest We Forget.

IN CONVERSATION WITH:

FOOTBALL JUNIOR SPORTS MEMBER

MUHAMMAD DEFERDAUZ B NOORDIN MEMBER PROFILE Full name: Muhammad Deferdauz b Noordin Nickname: DD Age: 25 Occupation: Banker Field Position: Left Winger SCC JSM since: 2015

WHEN AND HOW DID YOU START PLAYING FOOTBALL? I started playing football when I was 8 years old with my cousins. We joined an academy where we trained every Saturday. However, I only started playing football competitively when I was in secondary school.

What is it about football that excites you? Football is more than a sport to me. I enjoy football a lot because it provides me with an avenue to get together with my good friends. I have made most of my good friends through football. It is brilliant when you can always have like-minded individuals around you!

When and how did you join SCC? I started training with SCC when I was 18 in 2013, after completing my A-level examination. Gavin Lee, Tampines Rover’s current head coach, introduced me to SCC and he told me that it is an excellent place for me to continue playing football and also meet brilliant individuals who can make an impact in my professional life. I only officially became a Member of SCC in 2015 after getting clearance from the SCDF. In the same year, I started my first campaign with SCC NFL.

How has the Junior Sports Membership (JSM) Program benefited you as a player and in life in general? The Junior Sports Membership Program has benefited me in many ways. It has enabled me to continue playing the sport I love the most, whilst enjoying the best facilities around. The football pitch at Padang is the best pitch that I have ever played on. I have also gone on several trips with SCC for the annual Bangkok Seven’s. I have gone for two of these international competitions and have had good

experiences during both. The trips were not just about us playing football, but they were also a good time for us to bond as a team and enjoy ourselves. Most importantly, what I have enjoyed most about SCC is the people that I have met. Personally, I feel that the SCC Members are the greatest assets of the Club. Ever since I joined the Club, I have met many influential and like-minded individuals. Many of the older Football Members have helped me with both my football and my career. Our coaches have also been an integral part of our training sessions and to the program. They take excellent care of the boys and they are like our mentors. The older Members also make an effort to look out for the younger boys. I hope that I can help the younger JSMs too in the future.

for DD.

Name a sportsperson that inspires you. Conor McGregor. Even though he is not a footballer, I think he is a great MMA fighter. I admire his confidence and he has achieved so much out of nothing. He also has a decent left foot!

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? I hope to represent SCC in the NFL. My main aim would be to keep fit and continue to work hard with the boys. I am also confident that I will be with the Club because I have enjoyed my time here. It is definitely one of the best decisions that I’ve made in my life as it has moulded me into the individual that I am today.

Could you please share one memorable experience playing with SCC? The 2015 NFL Division 2 campaign. It was my first season and it was also one where we won the league and were unbeaten.

Next year will be your 7th year as a SCC JSM. What’s next for you? I am already looking forward to another season with the NFL boys, more so because this season has been disrupted due to the pandemic. And I am also looking forward to convert my Membership.

How do you keep fit and healthy? I run twice a week. Also, we have been training once a week within groups of five and the sessions have been amazing.

The palate unfurls with soft and supple ease, held neatly by a limey acid core. Flavours of stone fruit, oatmeal and citrus rind combine and build ahead of a fresh and cleansing finish.

Deep red with a distinct purple hue. the nose offers aromas of blackberry and plum and is supported by spicy vanilla notes. A full and mouth filling palate greets the taster with layers of plum, blueberry and spice. Well balanced oak and rounded tannin build on the long and flavoursome finish.

This Sauvignon Blanc shows the wonderful typicity that our Seaview Vineyard is known for - highly aromatic fruit flavors with a vibrant palate and pure, elegant mineral finish. The palate is elegant yet full with sufficient weight and texture that is balanced by the flinty minerality, typical of the Seaview Vineyard.

Chateau Larquey presents a nice ruby red color. There are slightly woody aromas, with notes of fresh raspberry, small red fruits, currant and blackcurrant, that burst out in the mouth. Tannins are opulent and granulous, with aromas of wood and soft spices like paprika. The finale is tasty, with a lot of freshness and vivacity.

Bowls

Convenor: Ganesh Ramanathan | Article by: Edmund Lin and Shermeen Lim

MEN’S CHAMPION DECIDED The Cup and Plate finals of the Men’s Singles finally took centre stage on 22 August 2020. Melvin had beaten Ganesh in the previous week 21-16, while Edmund was fresh out of a closely fought 21-19 victory over Zoher, as both emerged as Cup finalists. Edmund started with all guns blazing, and went into an 8 shots lead early in the match, often making his last bowl count. However, Melvin’s usual consistency started to get on Edmund and he soon started chipping away Edmund’s lead. Towards the end, Melvin had eliminated all of Edmund’s advantage and was ready to kill off the match at 20-18. Melvin already had an unbeatable bowl right next to the jack, and Edmund was ready to pack his bowls. However, in an unexpected turn of events, Melvin went heavy with his last bowl with the intention to “guard the back”. He unfortunately hit his bowl, which in turn pushed the jack towards Edmund’s back bowl, and handed the end to Edmund instead. The crowd gasped and the momentum shifted. Edmund went on to win the championship match 21-20, securing his first ever Singles title, in his fourth attempt in the finals spanning over nearly 20 years. On the other side of the green, the Plate finals pitted the up and coming bowler, Srini against veteran bowler, Chai. Chai eventually won the game with his vast experience with the final score of 21-5. Well done to the finalists!

WOMEN’S CHAMPION DECIDED The Cup Final in the Ladies’ Singles was played on 8 September 2020 between two ladies who had won the SEA Games Triples’ Gold together last year. The match started on a fierce front that saw Shermeen playing brilliantly from the first end before Amira swooped in to keep the score tight on the board. Amira had displayed tremendous patience and skills to take the game shot by shot. As the game approached the last few ends, Shermeen had reached game point with an incredible 2-shots draw and Amira’s closest shot was just behind the jack on the next end. The spectators were at the edge of their seats as Shermeen prepared to deliver her last bowl to seal the win. But it was not to be, and the game continued on for another last two ends.

The Ladies’ Singles finalists, from left: Amira Goh and Shermeen Lim.

It was an intense second-last end as Amira played an amazing draw shot and Shermeen managed to sit it out. Amira tapped strongly on her warrior instincts and drew her last shot dead cold to save herself from being knocked out! The last end was just as intense, as Shermeen drew her first two shot bowls to the jack and planted a back bowl. But it was not the best back bowl and it gave Amira the confidence to attempt a running shot down the swinging side of the green, and she succeeded in taking the jack to the back! Everyone gasped as the jack moved and bounced squarely off Shermeen’s back bowl and stayed near it. A very close and exciting game, with the final score at 21-17. Well done to the finalists, and congratulations to Shermeen on defending her Singles title once again!

Cricket

Convenor: Suresh Kalpathy | Article by: Scott Mckechnie

RETURN OF JUNIOR CRICKET AT SCC IN ASSOCIATION WITH It’s been an exciting month for SCC Cricket and after almost five gruelling months, we were able to recommence our much-missed Junior Cricket program!

We spent all Summer mapping what our return would look like. We mapped for the return of 183 Children, to which we ended our COVID-19-impacted first term with; we even mapped for perhaps a 10 or 20% decrease in participation as families work hard to recalibrate after the most uncertain of phases. We felt families might have needed to leave town, or that Mums and Dads would still be understandably wary of all things COVID-19. Remarkably & excitingly, at the time of writing, we have 205 Children active & participating within our new-look program - a participation growth of 12%. Additionally, participation amongst girls continues to upscale, with 12 girls now actively enjoying regular Cricket with the support of SCC Cricket; this is up from the five girls to which we had actively engaged in Term 3 of 2019 and we fast approach a time where we can facilitate all-girl training groups and all-girl squads - building the foundation of a new era for female Cricketers at the Club! Watch this space…

SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS

We are pleased to share that our Summer Camps of 2020 ran with absolute success! With both weeks sold out, we knew we were set for fun, fun and more fun, as 73 children took part in the first Cricket Section-led Camps. These Camps not only introduced new children to all things Sport at SCC, they also raised vital funds for the Section in addition to channelling significant F&B revenue back into the Club by way of 500 lunches in total across the two weeks.

ANNOUNCING CHRISTMAS SPORTS CAMPS! Following the success of our 2020 Summer Camps, we are pleased to announce that plans have commenced for two further weeks of Camps in December this year! Camp structure will again be modelled on a Cricket-specific week and a Multi-Sport week; more details to follow in due course. With everybody ‘stuck in town’, we anticipate immense demand for spots so don’t delay once information is released!

FAREWELL TO OUR HEAD COACH TIM MCMAHON

It is with mixed feelings that we announce the upcoming departure of our Head Coach, Tim McMahon. Tim’s wife, Jules, has been presented with an incredible professional opportunity in Hong Kong, which will take the McMahon family away from Singapore at the end of the year. With not much happening by way of serious cricket, he felt it was appropriate for him to step down from the position in order to enable the search for a replacement which will commence in due course. Even though it was only a brief tenure, Tim made some great contributions to the Section. His running of the Senior training sessions was extremely efficient and impactful, which was amply evident in the huge turnout seen during the week. He inculcated a keen sense of discipline and rigor, not to speak of the professional approach that he brought to his coaching by virtue of his extensive experience. As the team coach on the Chennai tour, Tim’s presence resulted in a much improved performance by all our teams against some tough opposition. He was primarily responsible for the running of our vital community engagement collaboration with Raffles Institution and expertly executed our maiden Captaincy & Leadership Course, directed towards our ‘future leaders’ of the Section. With COVID-19 robbing our young kids of the Junior Cricket, Tim additionally ‘took point’ on our vital Home Engagement program, which kept our children engaged with Cricket through the first six weeks of the lockdown, prior to leading the Coaches through our recent Summer Camps which ran to absolute success.

Whilst excited for the opportunities that lie ahead, Tim was keen to convey his disappointment that his time as Head Coach at the Club has been cut short. On behalf of the Section, I would like to sincerely thank Tim for his contributions through what has been a turbulent year. We wish Tim, Julie and their young son Jack all the very best heading into the next phase of their life. We will no doubt see Tim in Singapore on a Hong Kong Cricket Club tour to Singapore soon! Football

Max Johnson and Michael Drake gracefully slicing their way to a 9-5 conclusion. Matches were on a first-to-9-game basis, with the required winning margin being two games.

With the Football Section still unable to play in competitive encounters that involve more than 5 people, training continues at the Padang and Dempsey with good numbers on excellent playing surfaces. New training equipment has been purchased so that these sessions continue to entertain and nurture, until such time as we can play meaningful matches again. In the meantime, to fill the competitive void, the Football Section Tennis Championships are nearing their conclusion. There are three divisions of four players each and so far we have reached a conclusion in Division 2, where Tyler Drake overcame his father Michael, Tigers player Max and yours truly as follows:

Golf

Convenor: Bala Supramaniam | Article by: Ravi T Chandran

Despite the remarkable ‘recovery’ the SCC Golf Section has had from after the circuit breaker restrictions (Apr-June 2020), it has become increasingly difficult to organise golf events at both public and private golf locations. Specifically, after the Ang Pow game on 4 February (which was a huge success!) we have only had two outings (which in itself was a great effort and undertaking by the Section Committee) – the MBGC game on 21 July and the Changi Beach Club event at Changi Golf Club on 14 August. The Golf Section Committee, with the kind intervention of Captain Alvin Khoo, managed to get some semblance of a game stitched together for the month of September at Seletar Country Club. While it was hoped that six flights would be available for our Members, it turned out that there were only six slots which, after all, was better than nothing. This was subsequently increased to eight slots and was well appreciated by the Members who got to play on Friday, 25 September. The Golf Section Committee then endeavoured to get a game fixed for the month of October for our “game-hungry’’ members. However, efforts to secure Warren, Sembawang and NSRCC proved unfruitful as priority is currently given by these clubs to its own members. This was because there was a higher demand than usual as most of its members were now unable to travel due to the pandemic, and therefore opt to play more golf – both on weekends and some weekdays. The monthly games coordination notwithstanding, the focus of the Golf Section Committee was now on the all-important Annual Golf Championship (AGC). To meet this end, an organising committee, chaired by none other than the former secretary of the SCC Golf Section (and now GC Finance Member!), Victor Olsen, was formed. To date, three meetings have already been held to discuss and decide everything from the event itself - the special prizes (with a $50,000 hole-in-one prize sponsorship by a Member), excellent goodie-bag package, special offers on premium whisky and wines, at the event and dinner thereafter, concluding with a dinner at the Padang Restaurant (including Padang Foyer) and Gilmour Room (plus marquee at the Gilmour Terrace). It must be added that strict social distancing and only 4-to-a-table arrangements have been made. Despite the tremendous hard work put in by the Chairman of the AGC organising committee, it has now come to be known, at the time of submitting this report, that the venue, Seletar CC, may not be able to host the event as planned on 6 November. This is a tremendous blow to the organising committee and the Golf Section as a whole! However the committee, still undaunted, is exploring various options and will hope to try to ensure that the AGC still takes place, albeit at a different location/date/format.

The Golf Section Committee also proposes to have a Christmas game on 10 December followed by a Christmas Dinner at the Padang Restaurant on the following day, Friday, 11 December. The game venue is likely to be at the Laguna National incorporating the newly restructured Dusit Thani Resort Hotel and Country Club. The Golf Section Committee hopes to be able to report a positive outcome for the AGC in the Jan/Feb 2021 edition of the Padang magazine. Until the next issue, here’s wishing all Members a safe and joyous Christmas and a better New Year ahead in 2021!

Squash

Convenor: Sarat Chandran | Article by: Jodee Lee and Andrea Nicholas

Due to COVID-19, we are all having to stay put in Singapore, so now is a good time to pick up a new hobby, do that training or coaching you have been meaning to get round to but have always been too busy for. We may be grounded, but that doesn’t mean you can’t aim for the stars in Squash. At SCC, we are very lucky to have three high calibre coaches who are all SCC Members. Two are former national champions and SEA Games medalists, and one is the coach of the very successful Raffles Institute and Raffles Junior College school teams. Meet our coaches.

ALLAN CHANG Tell us more about yourself as a squash player and a squash coach. I started playing squash during my National Service in the Army and played as a novice for SAFSA (the Singapore Armed Forces Sports Association) Before squash, I was a National Volleyball player. I joined SCC in 1995 upon the recommendation of former coach and national player Chia Chew Lan. I was a C-grader then and within 2 years was promoted to A-grade. My coaching career started in 1997 when I was asked to take over the coaching of the Anderson Junior College school team. In 2004 I began coaching the Raffles Institute, Raffles Junior College and SMU squash teams. I became a SCC squash coach in 2001 when Chia Chew Lan left Singapore.

Complete the sentence: “Squash is …” Squash is my life (confirmed by his wife Shirley!)

Any tips to keep fit and healthy (besides playing squash)? I recommend players do their own physical training; programs such as circuit training are good for squash. During the recent circuit breaker, I kept fit by staircase-running at my apartment block and MRT stations.

Who’s your favourite squash player? I don’t have a favourite player. I watch squash on YouTube to pick up tips from the top players on movement and coaching.

Contact our Squash Coaches to find out more about the different types of training programmes and sparring sessions they offer! Allan Chang

MOHD RIZAL Tell us more about yourself as a squash player and a squash coach. Squash happened accidentally to me. When I was 12 years old, I followed a friend to a training scheme just to accompany him. I was asked to join. I made it and my friend didn’t. Since then I have never looked back. I remember those days during the height of squash’s popularity in Singapore: Mah Li Lian, Peter Hill and Zainal were playing and I would stay late after training to watch these people doing their senior training and wanted to emulate them. And indeed, I did. Along with Mr Z , I am another successful Malay sportsman and I have won almost every squash title from U-14 and all the way to a Singapore Masters title. Coaching is like my second career at this point of time. I still have a lot to learn but I believe I have the knowledge and skills to impart and share with people.

Complete the sentence ‘Squash is …” Squash is just not about your fitness. It tests both your physical and mental abilities. The longer you are willing to stay in the court, the stronger you become mentally.

Any tips to keep fit and healthy (besides playing squash)? Fitness has been my passion since young. I have been doing gym training for the last 20 years and people ask me if I am a fitness trainer. I do a lot of bootcamp too, something to complement my squash with HIIT. It’s all about consistency and eating the right food at the right time. What goes in must come out.

Who’s your favourite squash player? I never grew up having a favourite squash player. Whenever I see the TOP players when I am in tournaments, I try to learn bits and pieces from them.

VIVIAN RHAMANAN Tell us more about yourself as a squash player and a squash coach. As a squash player, I've learned the art of focus and being present in court during my training and matches. It has also taught me as a player to manage my emotions while on court and focus on the most important aspect, to deal with the consequences of my shot decision making (such as life, dealing with the consequences of the choices I make in life). As a coach, it has taught me to put myself in my trainees’ shoes to better understand their shot decision making and correct them when needed or praise them for a well-executed shot (which also opens up my eyes to another perspective of squash which I enjoy learning). The similarities between being a player and coach is there is no end to learning squash, as squash is deep and it evolves all the time, which is to me amazing too.

Complete the sentence: “Squash is …”

Vivian in his SEA Games 2015 Gold Medal match for Jumbo doubles

Squash is an art of balancing emotions and focus - once you conquer the mind, anything in squash is possible.

Any tips to keep fit and healthy (besides playing squash)? Dedicate an hour a day of your busy schedule to do any form of exercise, be it squash, jogging, gym or yoga. Spending an hour a day exercising enhances an individual's mind to be more positive about themselves, and in return life for them will be more positive.

Who’s your favourite squash player? Amr Shabana is my favourite squash player; he is calm, composed, collected, honest, the best tactician in the current squash era and humble. THE MAESTRO!!

Hockey

Convenor: Subhas Nathan | Article by: Kanan Packrisamy

REGULAR TRAINING BACK ON SCC HOCKEY MENU The SCC Hockey Section returned to regular training in July and have scheduled to continue training until the end of the year. The players had been informed that the abridged National League season was scheduled to start initially on 19 September and then 3 October, but that will no longer be a viable option due to the prolonged safety measures imposed on sports in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. There is however some light at the end of the tunnel with news that if these measures were to be relaxed for sports in the coming weeks, then some form of hockey matches competitive or otherwise can be arranged between like-minded clubs/teams. The Section however has been taking training seriously and more than 20 players brave the peak hour traffic en-route to “faraway” Sengkang Hockey Stadium to take in an explosive hour or two of hockey with their coach Kanan Packrisamy, who has now been with the club for 10 seasons (years). Continuing to train in groups of five, the sessions have seen a good mix of individuals with Wednesdays featuring mainly women (not by design, more by chance) and Thursdays, men. With players from all walks of life and ages, training time flies by in a colourful and exciting manner. Negotiating the many newly crafted drills under the shadow of Sengkang Stadium Pitch 1 grandstand from the setting sun has proven to be worthwhile for those that put in the effort to get there for the early 6pm start. Having to end the session earlier and vacating the pitch five minutes before the hour to fulfil safe distancing requirements and facilitate the training of the next user has been challenging but the players have been highly positive and things are now working like clockwork. No hands on the balls and other paraphernalia ensures further safety of the players and with only transient contact allowed, we have done well to make the sessions engaging and enriching at the same time. The open-minded nature of the players goes a long way in ensuring the sessions remain relevant and useful to the overall well being of the players’ development and hockey nourishment. The Section is also proud that despite the lockdown imposed by COVID-19, we have managed to attract new talent to the Club. New juniors from Germany and the United Kingdom are signing up this month. We have also managed to bring into our fold a Floorball star, who is slowly but surely going to be fully converted and current women’s national player Tiffany Ong has also agreed to sign up and line up with our Ladies 1s for the next season. This has been a real coup for our Club as we are always on the look out for fresh talent to join our ranks and aid our omnipresent desire to fly the SCC flag as high as possible.

From top: Juniors Girls Enjoying Training; Women’s national player Tiffany Ong set to star for SCC in the new season.
