Their dedication and continuing efforts support success at our ReStores, and we are grateful for their service. Six New Homes in Glendale Announced!

an Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity®, in partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Glendale, announces the Lomita Homes, a new 6-home affordable housing opportunity in Glendale, California.

Who Should Apply? • First time home buyers • Families currently living in poor housing conditions (crowded, dangerous, or substandard)

Applications for the Lomita Homes first became available in a series of application meetings at the Glendale Recreation Center. Four application meetings continued at that location, with the last scheduled meeting held Saturday, February 27, 2016.

• Preference provided to those who live and/or work in Glendale

Application Deadline: MARCH 21, 2016

Habitat for Humanity builds and repairs houses all over the world using volunteer labor and community donations, allowing partner families to purchase affordable homes.

orty amazing young men and women from Arcadia High School are deeply involved in accomplishing the mission of SGV Habitat. The Club, started five years ago, regularly volunteers at the Azusa ReStore and will be part of the program at the Chestnut Homes Dedication on March 12th. These dedicated students are already community leaders, continually seeking ways to help others and make the world a better place. We proudly recognize their service and their achievements!

Atwater Village ReStore Hopping!

T

he Atwater Village ReStore opened in January of 2015 and, since then, we’ve continued to generate critical operating funds through the popular ReStore model. Situated near the 5 and 134 freeways on the Glendale border, the Atwater Village ReStore is our largest retail location with a 10,000 sq. ft. sales floor and an additional 10,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space storing

items for sale as well as materials reserved for our construction efforts. Our Atwater Village ReStore coordinates a fleet of three trucks with our Azusa location, providing San Gabriel Valley homes and businesses with free pick up service for bulky items and large quantities. As a 501(c)(3), all gifts are tax-deductible and support our affordable housing mission.

Azusa ReStore Featured on HGTV

O

ur Azusa ReStore will be featured in an upcoming episode of Vintage Flip, a show that airs on HGTV. The show features Jessie and Tina Rodriguez as they display their passion for returning older homes to their former glory. Using the Granada tile found in our ReStore, which matched the period and style of their current flip, this home is undoubtedly going to be a beautiful example of how the ReStores are just the place to find so many hidden treasures. Be sure to keep on the lookout for the Azusa ReStore debut on HGTV. ReStore associate Brian Ewing, with Jessie and Tina Rodriguez, hosts of HGTV’s Vintage Flip.
