ACADEMICS We have developed three phases which are dependent upon King County guidelines:
• LANCER DISTANCE LEARNING PLAN: All students use synchronous, online learning five days a week with a published schedule (current plan).
• LANCER HYBRID LEARNING PLAN: This includes face-to-face synchronous and online asynchronous learning. The schedule will split the student body into two groups (last names A-L and last names M-Z) and make sure that students are on campus at least twice a week.
• FULLY IN-PERSON LEARNING: All students on campus five days per week. Students will be in classrooms with altered room arrangements to provide six feet of social distancing. Students will have consistent, assigned seats in each classroom. Some classes will be relocated to larger spaces to accommodate social distancing guidelines. Teachers will use Zoom to video conference, along with interactive display boards for presentation. All classes will use the Canvas platform and assignments will be available there. Movement of students throughout the day will be minimized. Large gatherings will be modified. All-school Masses, assemblies, and school events will be held virtually, or livestreamed. Students will use their own school supplies whenever possible. When materials must be shared, those materials will be sanitized between each use.
TECHNOLOGY Every classroom has been outfitted with the following technology in order to accommodate online and hybrid instruction: • Microphone and camera • Interactive board • Laptop All teachers are trained in Canvas and Zoom to ensure consistency across classes and improve accessibility for all students. Students must be prepared daily with: • Personal computing device – laptop or tablet • Headphones • Camera and microphone capability
