I also extend my sincere gratitude to my Governor Rtn. P. Gopalakrishnan for granting the permission to conduct the DRR and DG installation at the same venue for the first time. My special thanks to Rotaract Club of Anna University for having hosted the PETS & SETS and making it a remarkable one. I hereby wish all the newly installed Presidents and Secretaries of all clubs in the District for a Golden year ahead. You are Opportunistic to be the Leaders of Golden Jubilee Year; make it phenomenal by understanding the roles and responsibilities, taking the year forward. I greet all the Rotaract District Committee members who have shown their active support all throughout the first month. It’s bad to feel that we have already torn a month of days in the Rota Calendar Year 2017-18. We still have 11 months kept before us and that’s good. We have to make our greatness and might to be spoken by taking things move successful over the days to come. My special mention to Rtn. C. Baskar, the RI Director and the prestigious past president of my Parent Rotary Club for Conducting a wonderful Training Program specially for DRR and DRCC who have come over from various Districts. I request the Rotaract Leaders of RI District 3000 to extend your support and participation in all the activities during the upcoming days. Together we can make the difference with all energy and enthusiasm to go the extra mile serving for the society and make ourselves prepared for the Global Opportunity to Lead.” Regards, Rtr. B. MILES OF AUGUST 2017 The Rise of New Generation in Rotary PDG Rtn. Rajadurai G. Michael District Advisor – Public Image 2017-18 I am immensely pleased to write this message for the District Rotaract Newsletter “MILES”, which is being published with passion. My special greetings and wishes to all those who are involved in the publication of the same, particularly to the Rotaract District Organization of Rotary International District 3000. It is my special privilege to convey my deep sense of appreciations to the Institutional based and Community based Rotaract Clubs for their excellent work. This year is very special to the Rotaract movement, as they are in the Golden Jubilee year. The journey so far has been studded with outstanding achievements by the Rotaractors and their respective Rotary Clubs which does not stop here, but continues to sparkle the Rotary Horizon and the Community around with much promise for the future as well. I am glad to state that Rotary International has always promoted the cause of the development of the New Generations, who are normally referred to as the Youth in its activities and programs. In fact a considerable amount of energy and resources are dedicated towards the Interact and Rotaract, who fall under the category of New Generations by the Rotary Clubs world over in accordance with the ideals of Rotary International. The enthusiasm and energy that the Rotaract Clubs brings into the Rotary World is significantly observed and appreciated. It is very heartening to witness Young Rotaractors assuming leadership positions and carrying out marvelous tasks for the communities which are in need. The enriched Rotaractors are adding much value to their lives and are emerging as forces to be reckoned with, in their surroundings. The Rotaractors are often looked upon as change agents, since they can reach out to many areas with a variety of service projects with ease due to their spread across all regions and segments. This is a very positive aspect of their functioning which has to be seen in action for the real feel of it. The Rise of the New Generations can never be very crucial than this period of time in history, when the youth population across the countries are swelling in numbers. What is important now is to make this advantage to count. The need and necessity for humanitarian projects are also proportionately increasing in complexities and size, coupled with the influence of globalized lifestyle. This scenario gives the New Generations a perfect launch pad to grow from strength to strength to make a significant impact in the community.

MILES OF AUGUST 2017 The mantra for creating an impact is certainly to ‘Make A Difference’, a concept which is very close to the Rotary International Presidential theme for the year 2017-2018. I believe that the Rotaractors will seize the opportunity to make their Rotaract Clubs vibrant as ever to contribute to the cause of Making a Difference through their innovative thinking, positive attitude, friendship, team work, networking and apart from all an exemplary life. When all these factors are being taken into account appropriate to their situation, then I have no hesitation to state that the rise of the New Generations will usher a new era of silver lining in the wide and spectacular frontiers of Rotary, which will eventually empower the humanity. I would like to close this message with a quote of John F. Kennedy “One Person can make a difference, and everyone should try”.

MILES OF AUGUST 2017 The Fortunate Leaders Rtn. I. Jerald District Director – Fund Raising 2017-18 “My dear loving Rotary in Action Leaders, Pleasant Greetings, At the outset, I extend my Heartiest Congratulations to You all for being one among the 1.2 million proud members of this Glorious movement, who cause the change in the life of many youths. Especially, you are fortunate enough to be the part of Rotaract on its Golden Jubilee year. Recently, I had a fortune of being the chief guest for the Installation function of RC Jamal Md. College Asia's largest club, I was taken aback on seeing the way the Installation function was conducted. Meticulously planned, very well executed and involved more Rotaractors, seen the leadership qualities. The same way the PETS & SETS at Anna University was conducted and that too for two days, I was really wondering whether these meeting are conducted by the students or by the professionals??? Absolutely amazing! Keep Rocking guys. Congratulations to the Golden team Leader Bala, DRR and the Chairman cum District Bulletin Editor Shaji. I see a great leader in you. As said in my address, I once again reiterate that this opportunity given to you to take the mantle is for only one year and please understand that not all are given this fortune. So, make use of this to improve your talents, personality development, leadership qualities etc. to serve by educating your fellow student community by guiding them to be mission oriented, self-disciplined and to be a responsible citizens of our country. Also, get aligned with your parent Rotary clubs by talking to the President of Your parent Rotary Club for jointly doing Rotary District Projects.
