MILES OF FEBRUARY 2018 Voice of the DRR “Dear Rotaractors, Talking about our year, I want to thank all Rotarians, Rotaractors, Friends, Family members, acquaintances and other members of the Rotaract Family for the huge successes we have achieved in all the Clubs and at the District level, over the past seven months. The journey so far has been very amazing with a bunch of Rotaractors always around who keep supporting me in all the activities we do. I have been truly blessed this year to have one of the best leadership teams ever and especially my most vibrant District Officers of the Golden Year. All of the Rotaractors of the District have risen above my expectations to help fulfill my dreams for the year. We’ll continue to make a difference in our communities taking this Global Opportunity to LeaD. Our District Conference committee has been planning an amazing Conference. It has been arranged in a grand manner at a well-furnished resort in Yercaud. Plan to attend and to be inspired, motivated, energized, have fun, make new friends, greet old friends, and enjoy new experiences!! Hope to see you all there. MILES OF FEBRUARY 2018 GEMS Rotary District Conference Date: January 27 & 28, 2018 Venue: Ida Scudder Auditorium, Madurai It’s a proud moment for the DRR of our District Rtr. B. Balachander to be honoured by the Rotary International President Representative Rtn. Hsiu Ming Lin Frederick in the Rotary District Conference for the excellent works done by Rotaract during this year especially for the Aram Projects through which Rotaract donates fund to The Rotary Foundation (TRF). Many other Rotaractors of our District also made their part in the conference.

MILES OF FEBRUARY 2018 ARAM – TRF Initiative The project of the year - Aram was organized by two clubs during the month of January. First by Rotaract Club of Parvathy’s College, Dindugul and then by Rotaract Club of Batlagundu. The tickets of Aram were distributed after conducting a training seminar for the Rotaractors of the Clubs.
Announcements: My Club On Net All Clubs are requested to register their club data and upload the members detail on the Web Application – “My Club On Net”. Download the app on Android PlayStore or iOS AppStore or just visit the webpage www.myclubonnet.com. ARAM – A Fund Raising Program All Clubs are requested to conduct the ARAM fund raising program separately at each clubs. The funds thereby generated will be donated to The Rotary Foundation which will be used for doing service projects around the world. Register your club with RI If your club is chartered, it must be listed as an active club in the official Rotary website www.rotary.org. So, it’s a must to update the Rotaract Clubs and membership data in the RI website earlier or else there are possibilities for the club to be terminated.

MILES OF FEBRUARY 2018 Rota Gold 50 Host: Rotaract Club of Anna University Rotaract club of Anna University has planned to conduct 50 projects during the second half of the Rotary Year commemorating the Golden Jubilee of Rotaract International 1968-2018. The first project of Rota Gold 50 was Publicizing Rotaract. A new club board for our campus was opened on 22nd January, 2018 at Anna University – BIT Campus, Tiruchirappalli – 24. The board was installed at the entrance of the college to make everyone aware about the club and to extend membership. The second project of Rota Gold 50 was Rota Green. 50 plant saplings were planted totally. 20 saplings were planted by the parent club Rotarians and the remaining were planted by the Rotaractors in and around the campus. The third project of Rota Gold 50 is ர ோட்டோ க ோண்டோட்டம் . The Rotaractors sent written letters to 50 Rotaract clubs in India appreciating them and wishing the very best for the Golden Jubilee Year. Republic day, the ex-servicemen who work in the campus were honored with a greeting that contains their photo along with a message. The fifth project of Rota Gold 50 is தலைவோ வோ. The Rotaractors visited the students of Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Mathur on January 27 and distributed books, soap and tooth paste to them.

MILES OF FEBRUARY 2018 Ashramam Visit Date: January 7, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of PSNACET Venue: Anbarasi Ashramam, Nandhavanapatti, Dindigul Rotaractors of PSNACET went to Anbarasi Ashramam and met the small children living there and shared their knowledge, love and experience with them by conducting programs like soft skills, career guidance, games, dance and music.
Cloth Bag Distribution Date: January 7, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of PSNACET Venue: Anbarasi Ashramam, Nandhavanapatti, Dindigul Rotaractors of PSNACET distributed Cloth bags in Dindigul bus stand to shops that were using plastic bags. The main goal was to stop the use of plastic bag and prompt Cloth bags. This is done with a purpose of creating an ecofriendly nature.
Millionth Compassion Date: January 7, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of PSNACET Venue: Govindhapuram & R.M.Colony, Dindigul Rotaractors of PSNACET went to collect funds in the form of money or materials for their international project - MILLIONTH COMPASSION. The fund thereby raised will be transferred to countries where people struggle without basic needs

MILES OF FEBRUARY 2018 International Letter Head Exchange Date: January 13, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of PSNACET Venue: Hill Cool Restaurant - Kotagala, Sri Lanka Rotaract Clubs of PSNACET had a letter exchange with Rotaract Club of Peace City Hatton, SriLanka as the Rotaractors visited their club discussing the projects and to create and maintain a healthy relationship with the neighbouring nations.
Make the Environment Clean Date: January 20, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of Jamal Mohamed College - Women Venue: Pudukottai The Women Rotaractors of Jamal Mohamed College distributed dustbins to every home with a purpose of making the clean city and lessen the environment pollution in the surroundings. A small awareness speech was given to the children and women in the surroundings.
Help the Needy Date: January 22, 23 & 29, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of Jamal Mohamed College - Women Venue: Trichy The Female Rotaractors of Jamal Mohamed College distributed clothes, slippers, etc., to public and notebooks, pens, pencil, etc., to school students and also the helpless people living at the streets in the nearby places and surroundings of Trichy. MILES OF FEBRUARY 2018 Eye & Dental Camp Date: January 23 & 24, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of Jamal Mohamed College - Men Venue: Jamal Mohamed College, Trichy The Men Rotaractors of Jamal Mohamed College conducted health camp for two day for the students and the general public. Eye camp was conducted on the first day and dental camp on the second day.
Save Water Date: January 25, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of Jamal Mohamed College - Men Venue: Khajamalai, Trichy The Men Rotaractors of Jamal Mohamed College visited the people living in the surroundings of their college and insisted them the need of saving water to avoid water starvation. They also distributed awareness pamphlets illustrating the emerging need for water in future.
Tree Plantation Date: January 26, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of Govt. Arts College Venue: PUB School, Velliyanai, Karur Rotaractors of Govt. Arts College, Karur planted tree saplings along with the school management at PUB School at Velliyanai, Karur. More than twenty saplings were planted in and around the school premises. MILES OF FEBRUARY 2018 MediCare Date: January 26, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of Jamal Mohamed College - Men Venue: Khajamalai The Men Rotaractors of Jamal Mohamed College distributed medicines to the old age people based on their needs to cure the disease. Pre-cautionary awareness was also given to the people on how to get rid of diseases and live a healthy life.
Social Welfare Date: January 26, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of Sourashtra College, Madurai Venue: Govt. Middle School, Velachery Village, Pasumalai The Rotaractors along with the management and staffs distributed study materials, note books, pencils, etc., to the children of Govt. Middle School in the Velachery village of Pasumalai, Madurai. The students were also given motivational talks by the Rotaractors.
Career Awareness Program Date: January 30, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of Arulmurugan College of Engineering Venue: Gnanasambandar Matric Hr. Sec. School, Puduppai Rotaractors of Arulmurugan College of Engineering organized career guidance program for 53 students of Gnanasambandar Matric Higher Secondary School, Puduppai. Awareness was given regarding education and social life.

MILES OF FEBRUARY 2018 Students Welfare Date: January 30, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of Kongu College Of Arts & Science Venue: Karur Rotary Hall, Vennaimalai The Rotaractors of Kongu College of Engineering along with Rotary and Sleeping Children Around the World (SCAW) helped the children who are in need of basic things like towel, bed sheets sleeping kit, school bag, dresses, soap, tooth paste, etc.
Skyview Date: January 31, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of Jamal Mohamed College - Men Venue: Solamadevi School, Trichy Fifteen Rotaractors of Jamal Mohamed College visited Solamadevi School and Trichy and gave inspirational talks to them. The students were motivated to dream high. The Rotaractors shared their experience in such a way that it would help the students when they come up in life.
Wall to Gallery Date: January 31, 2018 Host: Rotaract Club of PSNACET Venue: PSNACET, Dindugul Rotaract Club of PSNACET conducted a Drawing competition based on the topics such as Sports, Gods, Natural scenery, Cartoon Sketches etc., to expose the talents of the Rotaractors and to showcase their works.
