MILES OF DECEMBER 2017 Voice of the DRR “Dear Rotaractors, We are almost at the half of our year and all our activities have been very excellent so far. I feel very much happy to be a DRR of this wonderful district. We didn’t have much of activities during the month of November, but we had some remarkable achievements. We have donated a total of 6.5 lakhs from the part of Rotaract to The Rotary Foundation (TRF). Most of the clubs in our district are college based. Considering the exams during the months of November and December, we haven’t planned any major events during these months. My best wishes to all the Rotaractors to prepare well for their exams and excel in their career. My thanks to all the District Officers, the Golden team for their continuous involvement and dedication in all the activities of Rotaract. Only through vibrant Rotaract clubs, our Organization runs in a very successful way. My thanks to all the Club Advisors, Presidents and their team for keeping the district active. I wish you all to continue your good works in the future. I really want to thank our Governor and all the Rotarians whose support always remind us that we are not alone. We are very fortunate have such a wonderful support from Rotary right from the beginning of the year. Wish everybody very happy active day together ahead in 2017-18. Regards, Rtr. B. Balachander DRR (2017-18) +91 96263 51115 rtrbalachander@gmail.com

MILES OF DECEMBER 2017 Rotary’s Partner In Service Rtn. PDG. Dhamodharan District Counselor 2017-18 “Dear Rotaractor friends, Warm Rotary Greetings. It gives me great pleasure to share few of my thoughts with you through your MILES. My sincere appreciation and congratulations for the wonderful bulletin you are bringing out. For the first time we are getting it regularly and its contents are really informative and interesting. Kudos to the Editor Rtr. Shaji James and DRR. Balachander. Rotaract is the way for young adults who may not be ready or eligible for Rotary membership, to become involved in Rotary family and contribute to their communities in keeping with the ideals of Rotary. Rotaract helps not only to develop your leadership skills but also to develop good friendships. Rotaractors are True "PARTNER IN SERVICE" and key members of the Rotary family. There was a proposal to increase the age limit up to 35 for Rotaractors in the year 2016-17 but it was turned down by the COL. What makes a strong Rotaract club? 1) Rotarians involvement: Always keep the Rotarian coordinator informed about your activities and seek their advice and guidance. 2) Handful of keen and committed Rotators will make your club successful and strong. All the very best my dear friends.”

MILES OF DECEMBER 2017 The Path of Rotaract in District 3000 Rtn. G. Jayaprakash Joint Director – Youth Service 2017-18 “Dear Rotaractors, Warm Rotary Greetings to all of you. It is very clear that Rotaract during this year 2017-18 has achieved a lot of milestones. I remember how this District has grown and the path it has gone through the past couple of years. During the time when I was the DRR of this wonderful district in 2005-06, we didn’t have such opportunities Rotaract is having at present. All the DRRs before and after have contributed their part well to keep the District running. The theme of my year was “Spread Happiness Through Service”. Besides focusing on community projects like Blood Donation Awareness, we also worked on bringing Rotaract to different level. It was very rare that Rotaract gets an exposure those days. It was when we went for the first ever youth exchange. Right then we attended the Multi District Conference at Coimbatore, the name of our District became well known. Till now, all the DRRs have done their part in preserving the name of Rotaract during their tenure and I’m very much happy to be able to connect with you again as the Joint Director for Youth Service. The DRR of this year 2017-18 Rtr. Balachander has done a really good job. He’s the first DRR of the District to have contributed for The Rotary Foundation on behalf of Rotaract. My best wishes for the success of the golden project ‘Aram’. The relationship between Rotary and Rotaract has been very good this year. Our Governor Rtn. Gopalakrishnan is very keen on keeping Rotaract at good level which is an added advantage for Rotaract this year. I wish you all the very best.”
