ANNOUNCEMENTS & ARTICLES
Come for a journey in THE GOOD LIFE with Splash of Joy 1 as we study AMOS by Jennifer Rothschild. AMOS is often called a prophet of doom, and when you read his prophecy, that nickname seems to fit. On the surface, his message doesn’t sound like a happy formula for the good life. However, every condemnation he declares serves as an invitation, a call to “seek God and live”. (Amos 5:4)
In this 8 session study, you’ll be invited to live assured, faithful, chosen, humble, justly, prayerfully and hopeful. This kind of living brings peace and true prosperity for us and those around us. Amos promotes the God life, and the God life is the good life!!
DID YOU KNOW?
SUMC has participated in mission trips to Cuba since 2014 (except for the COVID years). In that time, SUMC built two churches, three parsonages, training classrooms, and acquired two pieces of property for the Methodist Church in Cuba. Watch for an announcement later this summer/early fall for the Missions and Outreach Committee’s trip to Cuba in January 2024.
There is a limit on the number of people who can travel into Cuba, so if you are interested sign up early!

Dear Church,
Thank You!!!!
Several weeks ago, we sought your prayers regarding the need to fill the open positions for bus drivers and counselors to continue Shalimar UMC’s long-standing After School Camp (ASC) program this fall.
We prayed and God answered!
Since then, we have received 2 counselors and 1 bus drivers needed to ensure the continuation of this important outreach program. Ms. Sarah Hicks, Children’s Director, has agreed to drive a bus until 1 more bus driver is found.
Thank you, Shalimar UMC, for your prayers, encouragement, and suggestions for employees. We are excited for the new school year as we REACH the next generation in our community with the good news of Jesus Christ.
ASC is still seeking 1 bus driver and 1 additional employee that could act as substitute counselors and bus drivers in case of employee emergencies or sickness. Contact Dawn at dawn@shalimar-umc.org for further information or to receive an application.
Thank You,
Dawn Rozofsky & Camp StaffWays that you can help us out… Prayers are always needed!
