We would like to say thank you to all of our customers and that we greatly appreciate your interest in our program. At Sandhill Red Angus we stay dedicated to producing the best genetics possible. We talk about consistency all the time here at Sandhill Red Angus. We believe that the biggest contribution to our consistency is our females. They must be long bodied, huge middled, and stay functional. For us, being functional means having a perfect udder, good feet, and breeding up on time every year while raising a big calf.

It’s been a great pleasure to tour through and evaluate the program at Froid of Sandhill Red Angus and to right away notice and appreciate the rigors of which the herd must adhere to for their survival. For the betterment of breeding and genetics, having a seed-stock outfit put the cattle through the paces year round can only garner any ranchers respect. Having mother nature apply pressure undoubtedly will reveal who is earning their keep and who isn’t. With keeping their foot to the floor and no reason to let up on the cows, yet continue to jump the hurdles, we will find out who has what it takes to reach the finish line. Breeding cattle isn’t a difficult task for a cow. Producing a live calf, weaning a good healthy calf, and rebreeding in a limited time will let the wheat sort itself from the chaff. It is clearly evident that this is the case for Andrew and McKenzie! By incorporating the genetics which are clearing their hurdles, you will notice a number of calves sired by their own home raised calves. Simply plugging in the good cows as many times as you can is certainly a recipe for genetic progress and breed betterment, ultimately landing on the real goal of being profitable! Knock-Out 2028 has been the leader for starting the sale all year. He has had that herd bull look all summer and exhibits as much growth as any bull we have ever produced. 2028 is extremely long bodied, square, and free moving. Knock-Out will consistently sire performance and length. His dam, C54, has been a great producer and is a cow everyone finds when touring the females. The Gusty cow family is known to be dark cherry red and have a perfect udder and foot.

This is one of my favorite bulls in the sale. 2121 exemplifies what we strive to produce at Sandhill Red Angus. He embodies power and performance in a package that doesn’t sacrifice the female. His fertility and function is proven back in the pedigree for generations. Consistency is key and that is why we plan on using 2121 in our herd for years to come. The Vanessa cows have been a main stay for us. We flushed a Vanessa cow this summer and F96 would have been at the top of the list if she had a little more age. 2121 will sire big ribbed, easy keeping, fertile cattle.

POWER IS THE ONLY WAY TO EXPLAIN 2041!!! He is wide based, long spined, and extremely square. I don’t think we can make a bull that has more muscle and thickness. 2041 was the heaviest calf at weaning and he kept going to have the heaviest yearling weight. It will be very hard to find a Red Angus bull with more power and presence that sells this spring. His dam, C62, has a perfect udder that is sure to be pasted on to 2041 off-spring.

It is hard to know where to start! Sexually correct may be the best way to explain 2189. Kick-Start has had that herd bull look since he was born and he has great breed character. I have been saying for years that we need to add some basewidth back into these cattle and 2189 is as wide as a truck. His sire, G668, was purchased from Dvoraks Brothers in Nebraska. When we bought G668, this is the kind of animal we had in mind. Cattle that have extra performance, but yet kept that Angus type. 2189 has a perfect skull, is excellent in his lines, and to exhibit as much masculinity as 2189 does at a young age is truly breed changing. Kick-Starts greatest attribute may be the females he will leave behind. His dam, 47E, was purchased from the T-K dispersal, where she was the high selling bred heifer. 47E caught our eye that day and still is an absolute stunner. His Grand dam, 69C, was one of the high sellers that day, selling to Leif Brost of Hawkeye Ranching Company. 69C has turned into a prolific donor and we see 47E doing the same.
