DELIVERY
Free delivery from the yards to a 300 mile radius for purchases of $3000 and over. Bulls will be delivered starting after the sale. It is recommended to insure all bulls returning to the ranch.
SIGHT UNSEEN
We would love to have you with us; however we do understand how busy things can get around the ranch. Our sight unseen program is simple. Call Colt in advance and we will discuss your needs, cowherd, goals, budget and which bull or bulls will work best for you. Many of our bulls have been marketed this way in the past.
SEMEN COLLECTION
Cowtrax reserves the right to collect unlimited semen off any bull in the sale at their expense and the buyers convenience. Any retained semen interests are negotiable please call if you wish to discuss.
U.S.A. BUYERS
We welcome U.S. customers and will handle necessary health, export papers and delivery within a 300 mile radius of the yards at a $200 cost. U.S. funds will be accepted at the Rate of Exchange current on sale day.

Welcome to our 9th Annual Grasslands Angus Bull Sale with the addition of two heifers! Again we are joined by the Holbrook and Hanson families who are a pleasure to work with as they are very dedicated to their operations and share the same goal to raise sound quality bulls that will work for the commercial customer. It takes all kinds to get these bulls from their first suck to the day they are dropped off at the forever home, I would like to thank everyone who pitches in anywhere to help, it is greatly appreciated!
Our family moved to the ranch in 1964 and grandma exclaimed this has been the driest and harshest conditions we have ever ranched in. The resiliency of the ranchers and these cattle has really been quite a sight. With this our culling has been even stricter, the ability to be easy fleshing, still raise a high quality calf, stay sound and be fertile to breed back has never been more important. Although the positive effect in turn it will create hardier, better cattle in the long! Our goal is to continue to progress each and every year to make our product stronger, I believe this offering of bulls and the females at home displays that.
The offering includes possibly the best and largest group of HF Alcatraz 60F sons that we have offered to date! Many more by the powerful herd bulls of Cowtrax Cast Away 11F and Brooking Mercury 9057. The young guns on the block are HF Mastermind 98H and Merit Guardian 85H who stem from two of the best cow families in Canada. Mastermind has sired as much performance and quality in the bull and replacement pen as any we have ever used! FF Charger F17 sired many of the calves off first calf heifers again, you can use his sons with confidence as they will calve with ease!

We purchased Alcatraz from Hamilton Farms in 2019 at a Canadian record for $200,000 for ½ interest with our friends at Bar-E-L Angus. Alcatraz checks all the boxes. He is so sound with a perfect big foot, powerful, lots of muscle shape, hair and a very docile temperament. He has also become our go to heifer bull that won’t sacrifice pounds in the fall! His daughters raised their first calves earning their last mark of approval, they have nice udders, are great mothers and raised the heaviest calves by our 2 year olds. He is a once in a lifetime bull, you will want to gather up as many of his sons as you can!

Cast Away was our 2019 High Selling bull for $15,000 to MFD Land & Cattle. He is as impressive as we have ever raised, super stout, easy fleshing, docile and sound. His progeny have been called “belly draggers” by many, he adds hair, depth and spring of rib to anything he is mated to. His daughters raised their first calves last summer and worked hard under some very tough conditions. Whether you need soggy steers or easy doing females a Cast Away will suit your needs!
FF Charger F17
Charger F17 was our choice from Flesch Angus, MT in 2019 as the top calving ease bull to sell. He is a son of the calving ease specialist Capitalist 316 and his mothers pedigree includes low birth, high maternal sires Connealy Thunder and Leachman Right Time. When you talk about balance in bull Charger comes to mind, he is very hard to fault. He stands on great feet with extra heel depth, moves effortlessly, has extra length and look, with adequate middle and muscle. He consistently produces low birthed progeny suitable for your heifers.
Brooking Mercury 9057
The $57,500 Mercury bull combines the great Beauty, Annie K and Rose cow families, making it no surprise his daughters rank at the top of our replacement pen this year. Mercury has impressive foot quality, soundness, capacity, large scrotal with a great front end and presence. His own dam Beauty 333 is a powerful beast that has the production record to back her producing countless 5 figure progeny already with many more to come in the future. Mercury sons will be great all around cow bulls who will add pounds while still producing great daughters as well!

Mastermind was our selection of the first set of Showman 338 sons for $30,000 with Bar-E-L Angus. Mainly because of the excellent females he comes from, his dam Tibbie 14D is absolutely massive with a perfect udder, granddam Tibbie 77Z is apart of 3 flush sisters who have sent multiple bulls into purebred operations and great granddam Tibbie 100M was a Farmfair and Agribition Champion! Mastermind is a power bull with a big top and huge hip with added heel depth on his foot. His calves are some of the biggest, stoutest bulls we have raised yet most with a mid range birth weight. His daughters in the replacement pen are even more special, we cannot wait to get them in production.

Great bulls come from Great females! That is just why we bought Guardian, his dam Flora 4120, is described as an Angus brood matron with performance, style and an impeccable udder. The full sister to Guardian is the greatest female in the Merit herd with 11 sons that have sold to average $22,000. Guardian is a hard to fault bull, nice length of spine, wide top, extra muscle shape that he carries low into his hip with a perfect angus skull.
