DESIGN BACKGROUND
This case was given to respond the issue of agricultural development in the peri-urban area. The chosen lo-
cation in Eco-Pesantren area in West Bandung Regency is a consideration that this area is also built with educational motives through an environmental approach, and there have been architectural interventions that form the built environment there. Through the design tasks carried out, the design has to act as a place where student began to learn to build responsibility as an intellectual group that is ready to contribute in the advancing society, as it is also expected to improve the technical aspects of the building.
This School Of Agriculture was initiated with a concern to provide knowledge for young people in the village
to be able to become prosperous farmers. The enthusiasm is based on the issue of food security, focusing more on the technology of hydrophonic, where most agricultural land is lost due to other functions. In addition, by providing good farming knowledge, the younger people will choose to live in the village with prosperity, so that they do not have to go to the city to continue their survival.

The area of the site extends from east to west so that the building is designed to extend to the side according

Each building consists of 3 floors that is connected by the elevated decks on the 1st floor.
Due to the high rainfall, the building accomodates a flat roof that is combined with a slooping roof which also
serves to drain water. For the aesthetic side, The facade of the building were using a hanging pots that were finely

made with a customized light steel structures. The hanging pot and vines is designed in such a way as the illusion of waves so that the building does not seem monotonous by the elevation. In addition, as to explore more local materials, the building are also using a facades with timber-mummification technology in the form of secondary skin. Lastly, to maximize natural lighting, an openings were proportionally installed in the entire building, except for the west and east elevation where openings are minimized to prevent direct sunlight.

Designing a building with the approach of the surrounding environment, hoping that the image of the
building can be used as an example for other SMK buildings. 2.
Designing the circulation system of Agricultural Vocational Schools which takes into the circulation of
vehicles and pedestrians that are effective for all teaching and learning activities with connecting lines in the form of corridors, where the corridor can be used as a space for discussion or communal space 3.
Designing a building with the function of a study room in accordance with the standards, comfort and
also integrated with design elements that influenced by the site 4.
Realizing the unity of character and improving the quality of the environment within the Eco-Pesant-
ren site by utilizing land space including its mass configuration and placement. 5.
Forming an effective, formal, and concrete vocational school so that the user are comfortable to do
their activities both for the Education and non-Education works

Designing vocational school with the same facilities generally as other public school, but with an addi-

DESIGN BACKGROUND
The limited land that’s currently available in major cities such as Indonesia can causes higher land pric-
es. Most modern families now are only able to hands-on a small land area due to the expanding population and densification problem. Then, how can modern family have a comfortable house in such a tropical climate like Indonesia? This split open-space house is proposed to respond our tropical climate. The vast limitations of space tricked with built-in furniture equipped inside of the house. Structuring the outer space and good inner space that can produce optimal land use. The efficiency of energy use in every home is maximizes as we use the sunlight for natural lighting during the day. The house is also designed to use natural resources to reduce the use of artificial air conditioner. With the use of cross ventilation, we use a affordable tool such as roller’s blind to ward off incoming sunlight but still allows the flow of air into the room. This 90m2 house is also designed with a vertical garden so that the air would flow naturally from outside the house.

Therefore, the north-south orientation of the building needs to be handled properly, such as adding a vertical garden as a natural ventilation to reduce solar heat on the north side. The living area is primarily built to maintain the view-connectivity and natural air-circulation between all levels of the floor. The front living area of the house functioning as a focal point where the space is integrated with the kitchen and dining area at the next level. The placement of the master bedroom upstairs is intended to achieve privacy as well as a visual protection from outside. Both masses are surrounded by corridor-like-sidecourt which uses grating materials to maximize the air circulation that enters the building while adding aesthetics and transparency between spaces. In addition, tropical housing with this contemporary concept utilizes sustainable materials and local materials, especially on the equipped exterior- such as the use of exposed brickwork. It also contains a built-in interiors with wood parquet floors that are easily obtained and applied. This design is designed in such a way to each element, both material, form, and color, and the room function is optimized to support the harmonious organization between indoor and outdoor space in the midst of dense settlements and rapid development in Indonesia..

Sloping roofs are a common feature for residential properties, this roof is designed to reponse the tropical climate context as it do not let water or other dirt accumulate by allowing them to simply slide off. The roof is also fertilized in a way where the trees planted on the green rootop can grow naturally without thinking about the highest pitch of the roof. Material that’s used in this house is a metal sheet with concrete finishing as it is light, affordable and easy to construct.

SPLIT LEVEL A split level home is a style of house in which the floor levels are staggered. The mass of the building is created into a split level to maximize the cross ventilation that entered into the building. This would naturally cause the low-temperature in the house. In addition, due to unlimited visual access between each level, this concepts can cause a higher intensity of joint activities for the families

DESIGN BACKGROUND
This Sub-District office is located in the corner of Hegarmanah Street, Bandung. This governmental office is
used as a public service center and surrounded by 2 level buildings. The startegic location of site is one of the consideration to built the office with a more powerful and formal character. The image of public buildings can be explored through architectural design as a public building can be a multi-interpretation too. With an organizational systems according to the needs of the space, this office have to implented a flexible access for disabled visitors.
Considering the comfort and safety factor, this building designed with such a spatial exploration and existing
regulation to serves the right standards. The optimization of lighting and natural ventilation are designed to improve the concept of Eco-Office where we can reduce the energy that is used. This Sub-District office hopes to couples the rigorous strategy, delivering successful spaces that delight as much as they are environment friendly

DESIGN BRIEF & CONCEPTS This Sub-district office is designed to give a spacious a serenity feel for the user in an urban setting. The site extends from east to west. Therefore, the building is designed to extend to the side according to the site. The mass of the build-

ing consists of 2 floors subtracted in the middle of the building which functioned as a green area with voids on the second floor, so visitors who will go to rsg will get sufficient air circulation and natural air. Bandung has a high rainfall, so the roof is adapted into 2 forms of roofs with different axis directions. The sloping roof which leads to the west and east is then overlapped by the roof in the middle with the north and south. The high roof is designed to provide a formal impression that is integrated with the building facade using secondary wood material that adapts the batik pattern from Bandung so it shows the impression of the local culture itself. The repeated pattern of this wooden panel makes a bold statement of local design touch that stands up amongst the remaining modern interior. While the windows of the entire building are designed to maximize natural lighting, except for the openings of the west and east which are minimized to prevent direct sunlight from the west.

DESIGN BACKGROUND
This project was initiated to design a 25m2 core house and 75m2 extended house made out of a bamboo
materials for an earthquake resilient housing in Lombok Island, Indonesia. This project includes a developing methods and technologies for earthquake-resistant housing using locally available materials, improving the knowledge and skills of construction workers, disseminating information to residents to encourage them to construct earthquake-resistant housing.
The main consideration fot the core house and extended house is how we can adress the local materials
such as bamboo into one structural house. This design would have to accomadates some criterias such as compatible for tropical climate., the sustanaibilty and durability of the house. and to prevent from the flood that often happened in Lombok. Preconceptions of this sustainable material is redefine to construct a affordable housing, that can improve the local conditions. By doing the programmatic design, we implied the life cycle of the residents and hopes that this commercial and residential housing can expanded over years.

DESIGN BACKGROUND
This project’s focus on designing a community center of an urban land with an approach to the exploration of
space / form composition. Every community is made up of unique individuals, situations, desires, hopes, and more This community center would have to provides spaces for people with similar interest but often vary from different social, religious and political backgrounds in Bandung. It can truly be a place created for the equal and unbiased participation for everyone in the community cause. Therefore it should be a structural spaces that accomodates all of the participants and their needs & desires. Through programmatic design, this project that occurs in urban context must be able to refer and use the city design rules related to the building site.
For the case of the project, the function of this gallery and work space for urban communities is related to the
activities of life in the Asia-Africa Park area in Bandung. In addition to have witnessed the history of the Asian-African Conference in the past, this region is now growing as one of the hang-out places in the communities of Bandung through various events. In addition, the perceive aspects of locality in the site both in a morphological aspects and

DESIGN BACKGROUND Shibuya, the Center of youth culture, always on the cutting edge of fashion. It is one of the top fashion district, trade and entertainment in Tokyo. Shibuya is known for their multi-culture and diversity throughout the people in the city. It is one of the most busiest and swamped wards that redirects millions of people every day of the year. By 2018, the local government has stated an estimated population of 221,801 in an area of 15,11 km2. Shibuya has been gaining popularity through their iconic scramble crossing and also the variety of vibrant alleys and streets. Up to 3.000 people walking through “Shibuya Crossing” every day, it is a complex and multifaceted system that operates 24hours of movement in the city. This dialectic character of Shibuya can be a potential and spatial opportunities in order to bring a common spaces that afford people’s present needs.

PROBLEMS STATEMENT With the overwhelming crowds filling the area daily and the increasing shops attracting pedestrians, people in the area tend to lose contact with their surroundings. As it becomes more like a shopping district, with all the commercials and business centre along Shibuya, the lack of greenery around the sidewalk can be one of our problems too. As we live in the age of individualism, the diversity in Shibuya sometimes can create a certain level of uncomfort, and nervousness; they only focus on their own agendas instead of immersing themselves with the diverse cultural heritage in the popular district. Thus, it is essential to make the maximum use of the available space in the ward so as to bridge interaction between the people, the culture, lifestyles, and trends of Shibuya. The lack of socialization between people could be done by producing a distinctive excitement and expereriences that ensure us to make a whole new different attraction proposing the durability of this modular public space that could be change overtime according to the people’s need.
DESIGN IDEAS The ideas which influence the designs that is apparent in the Shibuya district have massive roles in the people’s way of living. Firstly, designs might affect people’s movement, provokes the appearance, disappearance and reappearance of local places and activities. The spaces that are provided accommodates different dynamics that serve as a platfrom for spatial opportunities. One spatial opportunity can serves as an alternative public space that maximizes the parking lot space itself, for instance, in which space might also emerges many other forms of common spaces, such as parks, gym, and playground. As common spaces, and utilitarian places, these parking lot can hold potential for an architectural intervention that might affect the spatial sense but in a functional way. The presence of parking lot in front of the commercial stores might increase the activity and interaction of pedestrian within minutes or hours they spent. Through this tiny space being used more variedly in purpose, we can actually provoke a collective space that could support the action that will generate an attraction and also becoming their common behavior throughout the day. Through the exploration of the space, in this case, the parking lot across the pedestrian area, hopefully it will serve the multi-cultural people as a platform to interact, and connect with each other.
THE MODULES CONCEPT we try to make a parking lot that is basically a public space which everyone could park their car into, so we came up with the ideas to change the function of this parking space become a public space that emerges into a better and useful spatial for the majority of people in Shibuya, namely pedestrian.

A wide span bamboo structure that will be use as a temporary healthcare unit for the people in Lombok Island
Bamboo is one of the most sustainable building materials. It is a renewable resources that grows quickly. Developed from traditional lashing techniques, this bamboo joint provides a relatively cheap and easy joint, by only using a steel namely asdrat, nut, and ring, which can be made by an unskilled worker.

In terms of building a new icon to the bamboo-producing village, Pasanggrahan, we held a bamboo construction workshop for the people about our research - a modern bamboo joint technology. Our team consists of 4, is also proposing some of the design for their community center and warung to attract more tourist.
As to response the recent Lombok earthquake disaster, the ITB Architecture Team led by Mr. Andry Widyowijatnoko collaborate with the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) to helped the surrounding communities by designing an earthquake resistant buildings, such as HUNTARA, a temporary School for , and a shelter/posts
