IN THE CITY Location: New York-Statue of Liberty National Monument Material: Recycled plastic Structure: Inflatable(Pneumatic) structure Description: The circular square in front of the Statue of Liberty is an excellent location to elaborate the concept of "cooperation and symbiosis." Its meaning is to welcome new immigrants from the sea, which implies a "symbiosis" model of equality and freedom.

BEYOND THE HUMAN LIFE In the book “ The Origin of Species,” Darwin believes that natural selection is the driving force of biological evolution. Individuals who adapt to the environment will survive, and those who do not adapt will be eliminated, which extinctions happens five times already. The purpose in this design proposal is to imagine a scenario what could still remain what if the human race becomes extinct under some unpredictable reasons and how can we tell the achievement that we had reached or should we give some suggestion for the after life-form? What is more, after we did some researches of human achievement, we found that species all share similar genetic sequence, which is DNA. In order to survive more than 3 billion years, it changed/ transformed/ evolved to express the various sequence on the Earth. Every DNA sequence has its meaning and represent “cooperation and symbiosis”, which are the key to this competition.

IN THE DESERT Location: Sahara Desert Material: Sand and Water Structure: Precast mold structure Description: The Sahara is the world's largest hot desert, but with the increase of human activities , the local ecological environment has been severely damaged. We hope to construct our temporary buildings through specially treated water and sand, to arouse human beings' awareness of protecting the desert environment.

IN THE JUNGLE Location: Amazon rainforest Material: Scrap Wood Structure: wooden binding structure Description: The Amazonia is the world's largest tropical rainforest, but with the over-deforestation and forest fires, a large amount of rainforest has been lost, which in turn reduces biodiversity and increases carbon dioxide emissions. In this region, we are concerned about how to recycle the leftovers of the felled trees to reduce human damage to the rainforest.

In this region, we will take local materials, use ice formed from seawater as the primary structural material, and carry prefabricated resin molds to facilitate the shaping of the ice.

IN THE OCEAN Location: Fiji Islands Material: corn starch and stainless steel powder Structure: 3D printing Description: The Fiji Islands have a paradise marine environment, but with overfishing and the invasion of alien species, more and more coral reefs are disappearing, and the local marine ecological environment is seriously threatened. The researchers found that by placing 3D printed artificial coral reefs in the water improved not only the survival rate of local fish but also protected the existing natural coral reef growth environment(3-D Printed Coral Could Help Endangered Reefs, n.d.).

BUILDING DEVELOPMENT

8. From the bottom to the top, open public space, hotel space, commercial space, and residential space.

This project develops the space below and above water. It proposes a habitat underwater that addresses the declining salmon population. It offers a mixed-use development above water that addresses the need for localized food production. To further understand how the sensitivity of these connections, the project produces mainly two solutions to minimize the adverse impacts, that is, wetland restoration and selfsupplied food system.

It is reasonable to create a riparian habitat as a temporary refuge full of quite side channels and ponds, soft edges since the site is en route of fry’s journey to the sea. What is more, the self-supplied food system is a one-stop solution to deal with the thorny issue of food safety, which cuts down some unintended processes and optimizes the overall microorganism, as well as offering an innovative way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Food Safety Solutions 1.The project has created much Open-Air Cultivation Gardens to provide around 72 tons of seasonal local organic food for residents. 2.The project has innovated to offer a one-stop food supply system, and it is an amount to reduce 0.0045 metric tons green gas emissions.

Natural disasters impact and displace millions of people every year. In addition to finalcial loss, these disasters have a profound psychological impact on victims. The psychological toll on large populations results in epidemics of Survivor's Guilt and other PTSD symptoms such as deprssion and anxiety. Furthermore, disaster relief camps are often thought of as a temporary placement, when in reality the average time spent in such settlements can range from 5 - 15 years, highlighting the need to reassess the facilities and services available to displaced communities with longtern cosiderations in mind.

Our reassessment comes in the form of recreational and restorative spaces that can play a role in mitigating feelings of displacement, creating opportunities to forge bonds and connections, with the hope of instilling a sense of communal stability on the path to long-term recovery. Wisteria seeks to address the shortcomings of post-disaster sheltering by designing an interactive public space that is capable of actively responding to both the psychological and physiological conditions.

This project located in University district of Spokane Washington. This area owns high quality of education forces, medical equipment and population. However, the three parties have terrible connection. This project tries to scrape the boundary and make the community thrive again.

Healthcare Community garden study center

Begin with three main functional block to serve the different needs for the community.

Introduce courtyards to optimized the experiences in the three main center.

The cores and stairs

Adapt circulation as the datum connecting different functions around the courtyards.

The circulation considers the connection not just horizontally but also vertically.

Insert different programs around with the circulation.

An area that contains harmonious communities.
