Virginia McMillan + Woodie Williams

Virginia McMillan and Woodie Williams’ New Year’s Eve wedding ceremony at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church and

reception at The Merrimon-Wynne House was a celebration to remember, from a toast with all of their closest friends to a romantic kiss at the stroke of midnight. Every vendor went above and beyond to create a festive evening complete with a Champagne tower, New Year’s Eve props and espresso martinis. Virginia and Woodie grew up down the street from each other and attended the same high school in Raleigh, but it wasn’t until several years after college that they reconnected. They attended separate universities, and two close friends set them up after both Virginia and Woodie moved back to their hometown. They hit it off right away, and the rest is history. Woodie’s proposal brought everything full circle, as he took Virginia on a scavenger hunt to all of their favorite places in Raleigh, including her grandfather’s house and where they had their first date. Choosing to work with Sally Oakley

Weddings & Events was an easy decision for the couple, as she came recommended by several people they knew who had worked with her before. And Sally went above and beyond the pair’s expectations. “[She] was wonderful to work with!” Virginia says. “She was creative, supportive and made our vision come to life.” The couple says that they felt like a king and queen the whole night.
