WEEK 9 READING: TITLE OF READING
Question 1: What are Durer’s rules for perspectival projection? Durer’s rule refers to a material or surface being reinterpreted into ‘pictorial plane’ in which the viewpoint is seen as though it’s through a window. In this window, fully isolated objects become transformed, which create foreshortening. This rule explores two central ideas; a line running perpendicular to the plane which meet at a central vanishing point, and all parallels meeting at a common vanishing point. As these lines run into their vanishing points, their equal dimension diminishes progressively.
Question 2: Describe homogenous space? Homogenous space becomes developed relative to the object within it. It is created only when the object is present, and it is purely mathematical. It is not a measured space, meaning it is not constrained by dimensions but rather the objects found within it

INVISIBLE CITY: Olivia
Central ideas explored city must never be described by words
show more than rich and poor
words hold the truth
areas where they become one
striving parts of Olivia
no form of segregation
polarized wealth (high and low)
areas where there isnt a strong comparison
king knows low parts of society understands falsehood
challenging perspective
you only capture parts of city
diction and words
relationship of power of language vs reality
selecting strategically presentation is critical
constant between cities
hearing interpretation is essential
below the surface--> reflective
notion of diagram is really important
interaction common meeting space

QUAD PERSPECTIVE 1 + 2 My Perspective 1 I chose to create a space where the viewer could see high levels of social interaction within the perspective, by using the quad as the foundation of a grand market place, and the community interracting
My perspective 2 I decided to alter the orignial design of the quad in order to convey the notion of a small city area divided by merky water. the front perspective of the city allows the view to move their eyes foreground to background in which Marco Polo would of eventually travelled along
6
PERSPECTIVE SCENE 1 + 2 Perspective 1 I chose to set up a scene where there was interaction within the city between the rich and the poor, which is highlighted within the extract. I also decided in making a grand interior of the ‘quad’ in order to provke the contrasting notion of architecture duality between the two scenes. I have incorperated characters who emphasise the polarisation of wealth within a civilisation through the simple notion of buying and selling,
Perspective 2 I chose to develop a scene where highly affluent characters were ‘displaced’ in a poorly constructed and derilect environment-rehighlighting the duality of architecture and the way civilsation interact within a certain space. Through the use of a dark misty background, it evokes the notion of darkness.

WEEK 10 READING: TITLE OF READING Complete your reading before attempting these questions:
Question 1: IWhat is the difference between autographic and allographic practice?
Autographic refers to being the author, artists, etc. in which something is seen through the individuals perspective, however allographic means to make a reproduction or copy of another author, artist etc original material. For example, Claude Monet paintings of waterlilies plein air has been created from what the artist directly sees, but its allographic if that painting was copied and reproduced directly
Question 2: Why do architects need new representational techniques? Architects need new representational techniques because drawings of buildings and structures are disconnected from the aurthor. Drawings and plans are meant to be instructive and to aid others in their understanding of the structure. It cant be converted to music or artwork as the structure is yet to exist in reality
