MID-YEAR UPDATE: Finally, some good news!
I
t’s been an unprecedented year in so many ways. As concerns about the virus spread, we saw a dramatic decline in viewings and hesitation from sellers about putting their homes on the market. Contracts declined 54% over 2018 levels by the beginning of April (see chart below). Since then, we have figured out ways to safely get homes back on the market and conduct showings. Pent-up demand, combined with historically low interest rates, has caused a surge in sales volume. In the first few weeks of July, we saw a 67% increase in contract over 2018. So if you are thinking about buying or selling, call me today to discuss your goals. Summer is the new spring market! n

Staying Healthy and Fit at Home

heltering in place and restrictions caused by Coronavirus has forced most people out of the gym and into home workouts. As a result, homeowners are finding ways to repurpose guest rooms or double up their interior spaces as home gyms— now there’s no excuse not to get moving! Here are some easy, inspiring ways to start:

1 / Paint a cheerful wall color and pick up fitness essentials such as a yoga mat, rubber tile floor, basic bench, and mirrors (these are from IKEA) to make an easy and inviting workout space. 2 / Get inspired for your workout and create a focal point on one wall. Add fun wallpaper, a favorite motivational quote in a largescale format, or blow up some favorite family photos to keep you focused and inspired. 3 / As home buying activity has increased and buyers are focusing on space they can use to safely keep fit, even our home staging has been influenced by these changing needs. We almost always used to have sellers remove their large exercise equipment, but now we are trying to incorporate it if possible. This large family room can easily accommodate the elliptical and we added shelving to hold water bottles, towels, and yoga equipment. n
