ALL DESIGN TRENDS may bring to mind hues of orange, plaid prints, and harvest accents— but this season it’s time to think outside of the square box. According to design blogger Jane at Home ( janeathome.com), as the weather cools, curves will stay hot! You’ll see them everywhere: curved chairs and sofas, rounded edges on coffee tables, and curved accent pieces like mirrors. Designers are also building them into interiors as interesting architectural features too, such as arched doorways, curved cabinet fronts, or even curved countertops for your kitchen island. Curves lend a softer, more modern look to a space and can be mixed in with any style of existing decor. You don’t have to spend lots of money; there are plenty of simple ways to bring this trend to your home through accent pieces like mirrors, stools, coffee tables, dining chairs, ottomans, and even smaller decorative items like orbs and lamps (see photo at top right—adding ontrend furniture and accessories is something we do for every home we stage). n

PRO TIP: Curved shapes lend a softer, more modern look to a space and can be mixed in easily with any decor style.

HAT ARE LIFESTYLE TRANSITIONS? We all make them at different times in our lives, and as we inch closer to retirement and our senior years, they can often become more involved and require extra thought, planning, and care. After spending years witnessing the challenges and struggles our clients face when making decisions about downsizing, relocating to retirement destinations, or managing a family estate, my associate Tracy Bongiorno and I decided it was time to put our combined 30 years of experience to work—and the Lifestyle Transition Program was born. To introduce our program we created a 20-page guide to serve as a conversation starter and also an in-depth reference resource for our clients. We’ve also assembled a vast network of resources that can help with any challenges they might face, including: • Agencies to help identify options for a more supportive living environment;

ASK TRACY: What is a SRES® designation?

• Vendors to help with home preparation, repairs, packing or clean outs; • Agents around the country who can advise on retirement and relocations; • and so many more!

Whether you or a loved one are starting to think about downsizing, relocating, or a move to senior-style living, the best advice we can offer is to bring us in early in the process! Figuring out what to do with a lifetime’s worth of possessions, investigating what types of housing are available, considering the right timetable to make a move, and deciding whether it makes sense to invest in improvements prior to a sale—all of these changes can be unsettling and require a thoughtful and caring approach. Tracy and I are here to help guide you through the entire process, and have the resources to make these moves less stressful for you and your family. Our new Lifestyle Transitions Guide is a great place to start—call us today for your free copy or scan the QR code above to view a copy online. n
