Welcome to the first offering of KCH Charolais genetics for sale in BC! My name is Ken Hinsburg and I founded KCH Charolais in 1979. When I purchased a herd of easy keeping, moderate framed, purebred Charolais females, and 40 years later their influence can still be seen today; in the broody, functional females, we are proud to have in our herd. I raised Charolais in Manitoba; until I met my wife in 1998. Her name is Kerri Freding, and was raised on a cattle ranch in the Cariboo Chilcotin until her family then later purchased and operated Southern Plus Feedlots, in Oliver, BC. We married in 1999 and operated KCH Charolais together for the next 15 years. In 2013 we had the opportunity to sell our ranch and some of the purebred herd, we retained the best genetics and moved the operation from Manitoba to beautiful Oliver, BC to be closer to Kerri’s parents Bill & Darlene Freding.
The cow herd has been carefully selected to produce sound, easy keeping cattle with reliable calving ease, performance and premium carcass qualities. Our brood cows are from highly maternal bloodlines, have excellent feet, and legs, fault free udders, with lots of fertility and longevity. We strongly believe in producing feed efficient, sound, functional cattle that last and improve your bottom line.
This year we have decided to bring 4 yearling Charolais bulls to Kamloops. These bulls were fed a predominantly forage based ration to ensure these bulls will have longevity for their new owners. They are athletic, sound, good footed and quiet. These bulls are ready to go out and work for you and will sire calves that will add pounds at weaning & top the market on sale day. They are guaranteed to breed and have all passed a semen test and vet appraisal. The bulls are welcome to come back to the ranch and we will look after them free of charge until May 1, or you can bring your trailer sale day and take him home you receive a 100.00 credit off your bull!
