Fitness Challenges
Science tells us that a body at rest tends to stay at rest. And that can be a problem. In fact, research shows that obesity increases the chance of suffering from COVID-19 by 40 percent.
No wonder millions of people all over the world are jumping at the chance to take online fitness challenges — exercise programs designed to maximize results in a short period of time, often just one month. The challenges can range from beginner to expert, and they encourage you to: 3 move and exercise throughout the day 3 maintain a healthy weight by being mindful of your habits 3 feel part of a community 3 set goals and work toward those milestones.

Welcome to the Work(Out)-From-Home Generation
Here are just a few examples of the many fitness challenges you can find online:
Step It Up Challenge
If you’re not used to a lot of activity, a step challenge can be a great way to get moving. The typical activity goal is 10,000 steps a day.
Stand Challenge
Simply standing up on a regular basis can have a powerful, positive impact on your health. Office work can force you to spend up to 85 percent of your time sitting — which has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease and diabetes.
Targeted Muscle Group Challenge
These challenges help you focus on one specific part of the body where you’re looking for improvement — toned arms, a stronger core — there’s a challenge for just about everything and every body.

AdventHealth South Overland Park is now open, providing patients with easy access to a full suite of hospital and emergency services — including our leading orthopedic care.
“I live in South OP. It’s great to have emergency care, and most specialty care right here in my backyard. This hospital will be a great asset to those in north Miami county as well. Now they don’t have to ‘drive to the city’ for excellent, compassionate care. This is an awesome addition,” said Jeffrey Salin, DO, Orthopedic Surgery Specialist.
Located within the BluHawk development near 159th Street and 69 Highway, AdventHealth South Overland Park means that no matter where you are in Johnson County, the experts of AdventHealth are nearby.
“AdventHealth’s dedication to excellence is apparent when you see the quality and detail put into the new hospital. We are very excited to bring high-quality orthopedic care to such a great, new facility,” said Michael Dempewolf, DO, Orthopedic Surgeon.
Of course, when you experience debilitating joint, back, or neck pain, it can be hard to do the things you enjoy most. But you have every reason to hope for an active future.
“We have the capability to cover the entire musculoskeletal system, that includes being able to perform outpatient total joint replacements,” said Salin.
The experts at AdventHealth South Overland Park offer many innovative orthopedic treatment options, from physical therapy and pain management to sports injury treatments and advanced surgical procedures.
“At this new facility, we will provide both surgical and nonsurgical orthopedic services. At our fingertips, we have the newest technologies for imaging, including digital x-rays, MRIs, and CT scans as well as state-of-theart operating rooms and surgical equipment,” said Dempewolf.
New facility. Same commitment to whole person care.

The goal is to help find the orthopedic treatment option that best fits your needs while providing the whole-person approach to care you deserve. “Today, we address the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of our patients,” said Salin.
“Through conservative, nonsurgical treatment options and innovative surgical techniques, we create care plans backed by research and clinical results, tailored perfectly to individual needs. That’s our desire — to bring you back to wholeness, to restore the parts of you that need healing,” said Dempewolf.
