“America is another name for opportunity.” Ralph Waldo Emerson Happy Birthday America! With July upon us, Sheboygan County is in full summer mode! This is a great time to get out and explore all that Sheboygan County has to offer and support your local community. Go and enjoy the festivals and Deidre Martinez community picnics, stop at the local farmers market and support local farmers and artisans and be sure to keep our dollars local by shopping local! We have so much to offer in our communities, and we must relish in the beauty of summer in the Midwest. Love where you live Sheboygan County, we are blessed beyond measure! Sheboygan County is filled with opportunity, and we are pleased to share many wonderful experiences with our more than 100 interns and co-op’s spending the summer with us. They have had an opportunity to connect and build relationships with each other and local community members through opportunities to socialize and network, while also experiencing recreation throughout the County. If you see our interns and coop’s out and about, please welcome them to Sheboygan County. As mentioned last month, in partnership with several Northeast Wisconsin organizations we embarked on a manufacturing wage and benefit study, to give our manufacturing partners valuable information in real time to help them remain competitive in this market. We are expected to receive these results mid- July and look forward to sharing those details with participants. Are your Young Professionals connected to the community? We continue to develop and implement opportunities to retain talent in Sheboygan County and we need your help. Our best way to connect with your YP’s and ensure they are connected and engaged is for you to share the information with them. Our website has a lot of information available, but we also send out updates via email and text when appropriate. Help us get to know your YP’s by connecting them to the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce and sharing our Young Professional text club information. Text SHEBCOYP to 57838 and never miss another YP update again! We want you to Think BIG (Betterment, Improvement, Growth), Influence Local! The Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce is committed to providing expertise for fostering dynamic organizations throughout Sheboygan County. We are truly Better Together!

Don’t forget you can post events, introduce new employees, and many other topics via member news. Member news is part of your membership, so at no additional cost you may post every day, every week, etc., whatever makes sense for your business and staff. Please reach out to me if you’ve never posted before and we can walk through this process, or you can just send me what you’d like to post. It’s quick, easy and it’s a great way to let everyone in Sheboygan County know who you are, what your business does or if you’ve got an event coming up! Some other things to think about as we move into July: • Deep Dive opportunities are a great way to meet new Chamber members and their respective businesses and gain referrals in the process. Every member is from a different business sector, so no two members are alike in any one group! Who do you want to do business with? People you know and trust of course. Join a Deep Dive today! Check out a short video at sheboygan.org to learn more about Deep Dives. • Roundtables are a terrific way to meet others within your business sector. Whether it’s Human Resources, Sales & Marketing, Not for Profit, and others, you’re sure to learn something from your peers. These peer-to-peer networking groups can help any one of your employees, or yourself, accelerate your learning curve, and minimize potential setbacks within your organization. Our own John Rogers does an outstanding job keeping each group on task, and always shares his own wealth of knowledge. Contact john@sheboygan.org and join a Roundtable today! • Our Young Professionals network goal is to attract, engage and retain young, diverse talent to Sheboygan County by providing opportunities for young professionals to design their social culture, serve as civic innovators and community stewards, and develop into the next generation of leaders for Sheboygan County. If you are interested in joining the YP network, please contact Molly Talaska at molly@sheboygan.org.
On June 9th, we had our Kick-off event at the Elks lodge as we welcomed over 100 interns to Sheboygan. They were able to mix and mingle with one another as well as learn from the vendors who chose to come and promote their businesses. Not only were they able to win some cool prizes, but there was also bowling and corn hole available too.

To kick off the events for our interns and co-ops, we offered them the opportunity to come hang out with our Chamber members at the vibe@5 at Sports Core in Kohler, even had an intern win their giveaway! We partnered with Elevate Yoga in downtown and the turnout was great. We have heard nothing but great things from those that attended Yoga, so much so we have offered interns another opportunity to practice with Jackie. Moving forward with our programming for this summer, the intern and co-op Day of Caring is on July 6th from 12-4pm. We were able to give them options on where they would like to volunteer thanks to the outpouring need of volunteers at our local nonprofits. We will be out at seven different locations and doing many different things from planting trees to helping build a home. Not only will we be volunteering at seven places, but we will also finish the day with cleaning up north point beach. With Fourth of July being the weekend before, we felt there was a need to ensure our beach looks great for those visiting and living. That is all for now, if there are any ideas or you would like to be a stop on the scavenger hunt throughout the summer, please reach out to me at molly@sheboygan.org ~Stay Wavy~
• Check out the chamber calendar at sheboygan.org and make sure you mark 2022 for all events coming up this year, it is sure to continue to be an exciting and rewarding year! Have a terrific month, and #KeepItRealSheboyganCounty!
