October Chamber Connections Luncheon

October ‘24 Chamber Events

Join us for the October Chamber Connections Luncheon, which is scheduled for Oct. 3, featuring the Tourism and Recreation All Star Awards.

The event will be held in the Grand Hall at Old Mill Square, 105 West College Street, Columbiana, AL 35051. Contact info@shelbychamber.org to make your reservation. All reservations

must be made by noon on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Admission is $25 for investors or $35 for future investors.

Chelsea Business Alliance Quarterly Luncheon Meeting

The fourth quarterly meeting of the Chelsea Business Alliance—an affiliate of The Shelby County Chamber—is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the Chelsea Community Center from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

This luncheon will feature the annual “State of the City” presentation by Mayor Tony Picklesimer.

To help us prepare properly for the event, please be sure to register by noon on Monday, Oct. 14 to Kirk Mancer at kirk@shelbychamber.org.

October Community Luncheon to feature “State of the County” Presentation

The Chamber’s October “Community Luncheon,” which is hosted by the Governmental Affairs Work Group, will feature a “State of the County” presentation on Oct. 30. The meeting will be held at the Pelham Civic Complex & Ice Arena. Doors will open at 11 a.m. for business networking. The program will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m.

In addition to the great business networking, we’ll also hear from Shelby County Manager Chad Scroggins on the progress made last year and what’s in store for Shelby County in 2025.

Starting to Plan for 2025 Program Year

AMBASSADORS GROUP

Serve as goodwill ambassadors between the Chamber and new or relocated businesses. Assists with Chamber events, programs, ribbon-cuttings, groundbreakings and other investor outreach efforts as needed. There is an additional expense for serving on this group which covers monthly lunches and other materials. Meets 1st Tuesday of each month at 11:30AM at the Chamber

CAREER READINESS / EXISTING BUSINESS & INDUSTRY GROUP

Promote importance of career development and the promotion of a qualified workforce for Shelby County. Organize the following programs: “Keeping It Real,” “Communication Matters” and the annual “Student & Teacher of the Year Awards,” which recognize excellence in our classrooms and more. Industry tours and the annual Industry appreciation event. Meets 1st Wednesday of each month at 8:30AM at the Chamber

GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS GROUP

Serve as the liaison between our elected officials at the local, state and federal levels and our membership, regarding business/commerce specific issues. Coordinate development of the Chamber’s annual public policy agenda as well as Montgomery driveIn and other events. Meets 2nd Thursday of each month at 8:30AM at Sain Associates

SMALL BUSINESS GROUP

Promote the economic success of small businesses through a variety of events, seminars and workshops. Organize annual “Small Business Celebration” activities. Meets 1st Wednesday of each month at 4:00PM at the Chamber

WOMEN’S BUSINESS COUNCIL

Support and help advocate an environment for business women to connect and build relationships, focusing on professional development and growth with businesses and with community leaders. We strive to provide programming for women in business to meet and discuss issues that impact their professional development and growth. Encourage business and social networking. Meets 2nd Wednesday of each month from 11:30AM-1:00PM at various locations

Ambassador of the Month

Dawn Carden, a lifelong resident of Shelby County, has been married for 35 years. She is a mother to two daughters and a grandmother to five. Dawn serves as the branch manager at First U.S. Bank’s Calera branch, where she has dedicated 18 years of her service.
