Volume 5 Issue 7 November 2024 FRN 2024
The California-Nevada-Hawaii District Key Club International, Cali-Nev-Ha, or simply CNH is a governing body of Key Club International, a youth sponsored community service organization of Kiwanis International, local Kiwanis clubs and school districts across the state.
The organization was started by California State Commissioner of Schools Albert C. Olney and vocational education teacher Frank C. Vincent, who worked together to establish the first Key Club at Sacramento High School in California on May 7, 1925. Female students were first admitted in 1977, ten years before women were admitted to the sponsoring organization, Kiwanis International. In California, during the 1920s, adults were concerned with the pernicious side of high school fraternities and sought some means of replacing them with more wholesome activities for youth.

Key Club FRN stands for Fall Rally North. It's an annual event for Key Club members, typically held in the fall in Northern California. Members from various Key Clubs in the California-Nevada-Hawaii District gather at an amusement park (like Six Flags Discovery Kingdom) to celebrate their service achievements, connect with other clubs, participate in activities, and show school spirit FRN is also a major fundraising event, raising money for the Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP) and supporting service initiatives within Key Club.

Fall Rally North ~ Oct. 19
Dog Toy Making ~ Oct. 15 & 17th
I had such a fun time at Key Club’s second doy toys volunteering meeting!! When I first came in the other officers and our advisor explained to us how to make the dog toys, distributed the materials, and had organized sections that made it easy for people attending. Even though we were on a one hour time limit, I feel like the service was simple & rewarding and I was able to get my full 10 hours from the meeting I loved getting to interact with other key clubbers and helping them on the project Overall, it was a positive experience especially for it being my first Key Club meeting since becoming Tech Editor! :)

My experience at the pumpkin festival on October 6 was very enjoyable and fun Once I arrived we were given areas to supervise and I got the Ag area We volunteered by helping to hand out water for other volunteers and friendly staffs We were regularly switched to different jobs like passing water to supervising at a corn maze Even though this event was long I enjoyed my time volunteering with my friends and would do it again! I got to see multiple vendors and activities and the festival overall I got to experience the festival with my friends and was served delicious food, we played games at the booths, and the whole volunteer experience was great I would definitely volunteer again!
