My Story Begins…

I have always had a love for singing and acting. I began singing as a child in the junior choir at my childhood church. Later, I ended up auditioning for a record company because my uncles in Philadelphia were recording a record and I happened to be in the studio. My father asked the owner of the recording studio to listen to my voice. The owner liked my voice, and he got in touch with a good friend of his that owned a record company in New York. This lady came down from New York to hear me sing and immediately signed me to Scepter-Wand Records. The owner of the record company changed my name to Nella Dodds. I recorded 6 singles for Wand Records between 1964 and 1966.
