The Old Jail in Maynardville got a hep initiation and a big stamp of approval from Preservation Union County when the group held its annual to-do. “Jailhouse Rock” brought out Marilyn Monroe, gangsters, greasers, prisoners, bobby socks and cat-eye glasses to celebrate the rejuvenation of the building and raise funds for preservation projects. A full house was served a great meal while enjoying doo wop spun by Gary and Diane England. Table centerpieces were made with old 78s. Preservation Union County is focusing on rebuilding Oak Grove Schoolhouse and hopes to have next year’s party there.

These range from early childhood to adulthood and older.\ All of us remember an uncle or aunt or perhaps a grandfather or grandmother or possibly just an acquaintance that made remarkable impressions on our life.
