LITTLE BUFFALO SCHEDULE continued... Aug. 2nd (Fri) – Photography Walk -6pm – Meet us at the parking lot of Pavilion 1 & 2 for a walk along the creek trail to do some wildlife photography. All ages and experiences are welcome, but this is not a small children’s program. Even if you don’t have a camera, feel free to join us and learn about the wildlife at Little Buffalo and the art of nature photography. Aug. 2nd (Fri) – Bats! – 8:30pm - Join us in the East Area to look for bats! We will start with a brief presentation on bat biology and conservation, then as it gets dark we will take our bat detector out to try to identify bats. All ages are welcome. We will meet at the playground in the East area, and flashlights are recommended. Aug. 3rd (Sat) – Meet the Salamanders – 9:30-11am – Stop by the stage in the East Area during this time to check out some of the different species of salamanders in PA. We will talk about amphibian biology and conservation and how you can help protect these unique animals. Aug. 4th (Sun) – Meet the Butterflies – 4-5pm – Stop in at the butterfly garden in the East Area to see some of the beautiful bees and butterflies that visit the park. We have a great selection of native wildflowers for our pollinators and we will discuss the significance of choosing natives in your landscape as well as the importance of host plants to butterflies. Aug. 10th (Sat) – We’re Talkin’ Trees @ Boyd Big Tree – 10am - Come out and visit Boyd Big Tree in Dauphin and learn about trees! We will learn how to ID trees and talk about managing trees. We will then take a short walk to practice our ID skills. We will meet at the Pavilion. Bug spray is highly recommended. Aug. 11th (Sun) – Reptiles & Amphibians on Stage 10-11am – Join us on the stage at 10am for a program about reptiles and amphibians at Little Buffalo. All ages are welcome. The stage is in the East Area by Pavilion 3. Aug. 16th (Fri) – Creatures of the Night – 8:00 pm – Meet us at the campground amphitheatre to learn about some creatures of the night!
